New Thing #5 brought us to Sho Art, Spirit & Performance! We strolled through all the nooks and crannies of their historic building site and even met some of the artists who have their Studios there. Afterwards, we were treated to an art lesson using paint and stencils created by a local artist and showcased on the walls of their gallery. It was a great experience and we will definitely return! ❤️

Shō, based in Windsor, Ontario, gathers artists dedicated to the interplay of art, spirit and performance. This multi-disciplinary approach welcomes painters, poets, sculptors, musicians, actors… allowing each artist to innovate, collaborate, produce and present art across all creative borders.

New Thing #4 was recommended by Sally Hansen and brought us to the Libro Centre in Amherstburg to try out the indoor track and watch the model airplane’s fly! Cody and Nick took the cake with most laps around the track (they walked for 30 minutes straight!) and the lovely gentlemen flying the planes took the time to teach us about the mechanics behind the magic. It was completely free and the participants had a great time! ✈️

Our “Try New Things in 2026” resolution continues! 🎉

Math Monday in action! Today our participants practiced real-life math skills through a small financial literacy challenge. Each person was given a simple scenario: You have $10 to buy lunch. From there, they explored a menu of different items with varying prices and had to decide what they could buy without going over budget.

This activity focused on basic addition, decision-making, and budgeting, all in a practical way that connects math to everyday life. Skills like these help build confidence and independence when it comes to handling money and making choices. Learning is always more meaningful when it mirrors real life, and today our group showed that a little math can go a long way!

💛💙 Meet John 💙💛.. He is our Star Of The Day Today.. John is a very energetic, positive guy who has endless love for family and friends. I really enjoyed working with John and Guys he has a youtube Channel. called "Holidays with John" Go check it out and show him some support. John loves supporting other local businesses in our community such as Soda Pop Bros, Staci Bakes, Torus Doughnuts, Iron Kettle, Cookie Bar so many of you who work there or go there often may see him around. He loves Knobbys Kids hockey program and playing the keyboard. I look forward to seeing his next youtube video.
