What does that mean for our skin?
It's important to adapt your skincare routine to your skin type as the climate changes.
As spring approaches so does the warmer weather and humidity!
So, how do we adapt?
We no longer need our heavy winter moisturizer. Too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. Moisture + heat = fungal acne. Try a moisturizing serum or a lighter-weight moisturizer.
When it comes to exfoliating - do less. Over-exfoliating in warmer weather prevents your skin from retaining moisture and maintaining its natural protective barrier.
What are we washing our face with during the spring? Lightweight cleansers, no heavy oil cleansing. Cleanse less if you're dry, and more if you're oily, but lightweight gentle cleansers are all that is needed.
Allergies come alive in the spring and therefore depuffing is needed! Facial massages, jade rollers, and gua shas are your friends! Move that lymph fluid along and help your face depuff.
Last but MOST IMPORTANT- sunscreen. As temperatures rise so does the UV index ! UV rays are damaging to the skin. FACTS. So if you have a bomb skincare routine, but you're not using sunscreen, you're wasting your time.
