Do you know what the difference is between thoughts and feelings?
A lot of people say "I feel like I'm...." which is actually the start of a thought, not a feeling! Feelings are typically one word, and they range far past just saying you feel sad, angry, happy, etc. Take a look at this feeling wheel and notice how feeling fearful can go deeper into feeling rejected or even deeper to feeling inferior.
Use this wheel to help you the next time you're struggling with telling someone how you feel, you may just be sharing your thoughts with them! Sharing thoughts leads to people sharing their own thoughts, while sharing our feelings increase the chances someone will respond with empathy.
