“Just take 6 weeks off and rest.”
Sound familiar?
Many injured runners, upon seeing their healthcare provider, are told to stop running when they come in complaining of an injury.
While in some cases rest is needed (think stress fracture, for example), often times we can modify training volume, running form, or strength/mobility, and keep you running!
This is more beneficial than simply stopping, as it prevents deconditioning and helps you to get back to your previous level of training a lot quicker.
Not sure how to do this?
Ask a provider who is specifically trained to treat runners!
