Schlegel Villages

Schlegel Villages Schlegel Villages offers vibrant Retirement & Long-Term Care across Villages in Ontario.

We celebrate purpose, dignity, and connection, sharing inspiring stories that break the stigma around senior living. Building on a 60-plus year tradition of caring for seniors, 19 seniors living campuses across Ontario are owned and operated by the RBJ Schlegel family of Kitchener. Three generations of the RBJ Schlegel family have been involved in the seniors care field in Ontario dating back to 1952.

Congratulations to all of our Schlegel Olympics champions from both the East and West events!

Residents from Retirement and Long-Term Care across our Villages trained with dedication, competed with heart, and demonstrated extraordinary perseverance. Whether earning a medal or achieving a personal best, every athlete showed us what belief, preparation, and community support can accomplish.

Thank you to our Recreation teams, PAL leaders, volunteers, and families who made this year’s Schlegel Olympics such an inspiring success.

Pedaling with purpose at the .

Determination on full display, with teammates close by offering encouragement and support. It’s not just about the finish line — it’s about community, confidence, and cheering each other on every step (and pedal) of the way.

When the lights go down at The Village at St. Clair… the glow comes out.

Long-Term Care in Windsor lit up the night with a Glow Party full of music, laughter, neon bracelets, and dance floor moves that could rival any club.

Because fun doesn’t fade with age, it just shines brighter.

Some victories are measured in medals. Others are measured in hugs.

Moments like this remind us that the greatest prize is the love and community we share.

Aim steady. Focus sharp.

This leg of the triathlon brought out the competitive spirit — Nerf challenge in full swing. Precision, patience, and plenty of encouragement from teammates made this station just as exciting as the rest.

It’s not only about strength and speed — it’s about strategy, laughter, and trying something new together

Our Story

The Schlegel family is committed to excellence in the care and support offered to the people who choose to call a Schlegel Village home. Ron Schlegel may be the founder of the organization as it stands today, but the family history in seniors care started a generation earlier when Ron's father Wilfred bought a nursing home in London in 1953. The dedication to community Wilfred carried throughout his life was passed to a third generation in Ron’s three sons, Rob, James and Brad, all of whom are actively involved in the every day operation of Schlegel Villages.

The family is also deeply committed to other social enterprises across Canada that improve and enhance lives and build a stronger, more cohesive sense of community.
