WRH Celebrates Respiratory Therapy Week!
RT week is celebrated annually to honor the work that respiratory therapists do. A Respiratory Therapist is a health care professional who assesses treats and cares for patients with breathing or lung problems. They work alongside Doctors, Nurses, the Clinical Care Team, Students and Families to develop treatment plans, administer oxygen and medications, manage respiratory equipment, perform diagnostic tests, and educate patients on how to manage their conditions. They are responsible for providing care to all age populations, from premature babies to the elderly.
You can find them working in many different areas of the hospital including the OR, ER, ICU, CCU, NICU, PFT, wards and out-patient procedures. They are essential for helping patients who are having difficulty breathing.
As part of Respiratory Therapy Week, let us take a moment to recognize the extraordinary work of all the Respiratory Therapists who work at Windsor Regional Hospital. Thank you for all you do!
