The Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation is thrilled to announce the grand opening of the newly renovated 4West Atrium, designed specifically for patients and their families. This serene space provides a distraction-free environment where loved ones can gather and spend quality time together.

The revitalization of this area was made possible through the generous contributions from Transition 2 Betterness (T2B) and their incredible donors, including the Stephanie and Barry Zekelman Foundation. Shift Interiors handled the design and furnishings, while the stunning outdoor mural was created by Derkz.

It's Spiritual Health Awareness Week!

Spiritual Health Awareness Week is an opportunity to celebrate Spiritual Care Practitioners and Psychospiritual Therapists for all they do including their unrelenting and essential commitment to the wellbeing of others, and to encourage dialogue about why spiritual care and psychospiritual therapy matter.

There are three hospital chaplains at Windsor Regional Hospital (Reverand Donald Hill, Tom Anderson and Rosemary Hogan-Kobrynovich).

Let us collectively raise awareness for holistic and spirituality care.

WRH Celebrates Respiratory Therapy Week!

RT week is celebrated annually to honor the work that respiratory therapists do. A Respiratory Therapist is a health care professional who assesses treats and cares for patients with breathing or lung problems. They work alongside Doctors, Nurses, the Clinical Care Team, Students and Families to develop treatment plans, administer oxygen and medications, manage respiratory equipment, perform diagnostic tests, and educate patients on how to manage their conditions. They are responsible for providing care to all age populations, from premature babies to the elderly.

You can find them working in many different areas of the hospital including the OR, ER, ICU, CCU, NICU, PFT, wards and out-patient procedures. They are essential for helping patients who are having difficulty breathing.

As part of Respiratory Therapy Week, let us take a moment to recognize the extraordinary work of all the Respiratory Therapists who work at Windsor Regional Hospital. Thank you for all you do!

Subsequent to an announcement by the Windsor-Essex County HEALTH UNIT that the measles outbreak in Ontario has officially been declared over, WRH is returning to routine screening procedures and routine visitation (outside of ongoing precautions for our paediatrics unit and NICU during respiratory virus season). Please refer to our website for information on our current visiting policy:

https://www.wrh.on.ca/VisitingHours

It remains important to be aware of the risks for acquiring measles through travel to endemic areas, or through exposure to active cases. Patients presenting with a rash shall continue to be asked about possible exposures.

If you think you have been exposed to measles and/or may have symptoms, we ask that you call ahead to inform the hospital of this risk.
