“My daughter had difficulty in reading books seeing things, and rolling her eyes from time to time while trying hard on seeing. We went to see Dr. Jacob and she referred us to Dr. Huang. It was a long meeting when we first met Dr. Huang, but it was very useful and learned a lot from him about the cause. We discussed about her situation. He explained the vision therapy plan in detail and how it would help my daughter to control her eyes efficiently. During 18 months treatment, we received excellent treatment every week, very supportive staff. We had built the confidence of my daughter’s eyes and also the great relationship with Dr.Huang and staff. They are all very kind and nice to us.

Today, I am so happy my daughter graduated from the treatment. I feel so lucky that i met Dr. Huang that my daughter has a pair of strong eyes now.”

We had another graduate from our vision therapy program earlier this week. With her hard work and dedication to showing up and giving high level with her homework and consistency she even finished earlier than estimated!! Congratulations!!

“I never really noticed my vision problems until high school hit. I struggled with reading from a page without using my finger, reading from a chalkboard especially in the dark, and several more vision problems involving jumbled words and skipped lines. After I met the office I realized things needed to change in order for my way of daily living to improve. Laura has been my biggest supporter through vision therapy. At every session I’m proud to say I’ve learned something new about myself. She’s helped me become a goal setter and has incredibly improved my time management. Vision therapy as a whole has made learning at school easier for me and has improved my overall vision so much as well. I am forever grateful for Dr. Huang, Laura and the team for this opportunity and experience. Thank you for everything. Another thanks for Dr. Bussey for referring me.”

This week is vision therapist appreciation week and with honesty, I am so grateful for these ladies in what they do for our patients and also for myself.

And this is also the perfect time to especially celebrate Alana as she was awarded this years Vision Therapist of the Year Award by Vision Therapy Canada. This award is an honour for a vision therapist who has made exceptional contributions and mentorship across Canada.

The beautiful soul graduated from our program recently and we couldn’t be happier with the dedication and hard work she put in to achieve such wonderful results!!

“After I hit my head, I continued to decline from persistent concussion symptoms for a whole year. I had consistently visited my family physician and several specialists during that time, nothing was working. By the time I found Dr. Huang I was desperate and very worried. My symptoms included non-visual issues suck as memory, balance, extreme fatigue, anxiety, slow speech, as well as visual issues such as very slow focusing, inability to look at motion, poor eye-teaming and I couldn’t read. I was so desperate to get better and so hopeful that vision therapy could help that I kept an open mind and did everything that was asked of me to the best of my ability. I was serious and I did my homework. It paid off. I’m back to my old self. I’m able to help my kids with their homework, engage in physical activities with them, I’m achieving growth in my career, and my relationship with my husband has never been better. It was a challenge for us all and we couldn’t be more grateful. Vision therapy literally helped my family get their lives back.”
