Wormwood & Black Walnut have been used for centuries to maintain a healthy balance of intestinal flora. Their active constituents are known to support digestive comfort & overall gut friendly flora & function. Similarly, Clove is valued in Traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicinal systems for its ability to help maintain microbial balance, especially when paired with other herbs that support the gut environment.
Cleansing & detoxing isn’t about anything except resetting the gut health to a state of harmony. It’s about inviting your body back into harmony. Treat this practice as a trusted traditional protocol & nothing to be afraid of.
Ignore the newbie naysayers -- who over complicate and stir up dramatic controversy with their inexperience & desperate need to income stream - market their programs & subscriptions.
There is a reason while during pregnancy you are advised NOT to be cleaning the kitty litter in your home. (another adult is to take over that task) It's not because your 'terrain' is weak - it is because cat f***s can carry Toxoplasma gondii, which causes a parasite infection that can lead to miscarriage, stillbirth, or severe damage to the fetus.
Parasites do not 'choose' a weak terrain, they choose ANY hosts that they are in contact with.
Parasites thrive on portal opportunity not on your terrain.
The portals are mouth, nose, eyes, lungs and by way of contact on hands or skin contact, bodily fluids, surface contact, food, fresh water swimming, or contact with pets, animals or carriers already afflicted - pinworms/thread worms, head lice or even mosquito's for that matter are parasites (tropical mosquitoes actually can carry disease such as malaria & malaria was historically treated with WORMWOOD & still is to this day...) - the 'terrain' of the human will not discourage pin-worms, head-lice or mosquitoes from the host if given the opportunity as we all know.
Do any of these only seek hosts with a weak terrain?
THAT IS ABSURD.
It is madness to continue to ignore the trusted ways of our ancestors that learned through experience of how to keep parasitic infections at bay with plants.
Anyone worth their salt in herbalism understands that up until the mid 70's - regular parasite cleansing was done by families every spring & fall - it was our ancestral, agricultural / farming history / animal husbandry knowledge + background in Canada that taught us this dis-ease prevention practice is a well-being tradition for avoiding illness.
The practice was stalled by pharma interference into the consciousness of the public.
Mammals can & do readily pick up parasites. Mammals' bodies are an ecosystem that operates on bacteria, microbes, and microscopic life that can and often does pick up unwanted visitors.
Talk about dampness or constitution till the cows come home as you wish BUT truth is-
Plants like wormwood & Black Walnut & Clove ALL predate any 2026 social media propaganda ---- the history of real plant medicine speaks for itself.
Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) supports gut health primarily as a bitter herb that stimulates digestion, boosts bile production, and eliminates intestinal parasites like pinworms. It is used to treat dyspepsia, improve appetite, and manage Crohn’s disease symptoms & other Inflammatory Bowel Dis-eases.
Wormwood is used for short term use - maximum 4 week intervals. Which is exactly how I suggest it’s use for those who it suits.

Follow your gut & consider any Herbalist's experience, motivation, history, duration in their role, their life skills & integrity and whether they are performing a new 'job' or following their calling & proven that by their commitment to their passion.
The societal shift of the last few years created an influx of new practitioners who push programs and payment subscriptions instead of hands on actual authentic herbalism.
By their fruits will you know the real from the opportunistic social media newbies who had a sudden change of career into holistics due to the covid scam era of beauty service businesses being shut down.
The field is flooded with them.
