Not all disabilities are visible. On the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we’re recognizing the many people who live with mental health conditions and other invisible disabilities that shape daily life in ways we can’t always see.

This year’s theme, “Fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress”, reminds us that inclusion must go beyond the physical environment. True progress means creating communities where people with invisible disabilities feel understood and safe to ask for what they need.

That looks like flexibility. It looks like compassion. It looks like believing people when they share their experiences, even when we can’t see their symptoms. Small choices in how we listen and respond help build a society where everyone can participate fully and with dignity.

Today and every day, we’re committed to supporting disability inclusion in mental health care and across our communities. Invisible disabilities are real. Mental health matters. Inclusion moves us forward.
