Unifor Auto Council president John D’Agnolo said even a modest tariff could trigger massive job losses.

“We’ve made it clear to them it has to be zero. It cannot be five per cent. The impact of that would still be thousands and thousands of job losses. So we will hammer that until the end.”

🎉 Celebrating 80 Years – Windsor Ford Strike of 1945 🎉

Tonight, we honoured a defining moment in Canadian labour history and in the proud legacy of Unifor Local 200.

On September 12, 1945, Ford workers in Windsor stood together in a 99-day strike that reshaped the future for all working people. Out of their sacrifice came Justice Ivan Rand’s historic Rand Formula – a cornerstone of Canadian labour rights that ensures fairness and solidarity to this day.

We were proud to welcome Unifor National President Lana Payne as our guest of honour, who joined members, retirees, and community leaders in marking this historic milestone.

For 80 years, the courage of those workers has inspired generations. Their fight wasn’t just about one workplace — it was about dignity, justice, and a better future for all.

✊ Tonight, we celebrated their legacy, and recommitted ourselves to carrying it forward in every fight for fairness, respect, and solidarity.
