EXTREMELY SERIOUS SITUATION: We are beginning to have individuals cancel all of their care provided because they cannot afford the new difference in their automobile accident insurance. WHAT USED TO BE FREE IS NO LONGER COVERED FOR ANYONE. We assist a lady who was hit by a car while walking on the sidewalk. We visit her 42 hours per week and assist with what she cannot currently do on her own. These are simple tasks we take for granted, including making meals, transferring into a bath tub or remembering to take medication. This lady cannot afford to pay the difference and does not have the option to receive less hours using her same monthly budget. This lady has now cancelled all of her support. My fear, this lady and the majority of others will no longer receive proper rehabilitation and they will all be right back in the hospital.
