RARC-Transition Program for High School Students with Disabilities

On-Line to Success (OLTS)-Ontario is a transition program for high school students in Grade 12 (or doing extra year) with learning disabilities, ADHD, ASD, and/or mental health disorders (such as anxiety or depression) who plan to attend college or university. This online course runs during Term 2 and guides students through various activities and assignments designed to prepare them for the challenges they may face in post-secondary school.

A Virtual Transition Information Night will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 6pm EST. In the presentation, we will provide an overview of programming, accommodations, and supports that can help students with disabilities prepare for the changes that come with post-secondary education.

We celebrate Bonnie Darbyson and her remarkable 28-year career at JMCC! 💙

Bonnie has touched the lives of so many children, youth, families, and colleagues through her work as a physiotherapist. She has provided services across all of our programs and schools, supported and mentored new clinicians with kindness and strength, and led our physiotherapy team in the treatment of plagiocephaly and torticollis pathways. Most importantly, she has always put family-centred care at the heart of everything she does.

Bonnie, thank you for your dedication, compassion, and expertise. We wish you the happiest retirement - full of joy, relaxation, and new adventures! 🌷✨

💜 It’s Invisible Disabilities Week! 💜

This week we shine a light on the many people living with disabilities that aren’t always visible. From chronic pain and mental health challenges to learning differences and neurological conditions, invisible disabilities can affect anyone, and understanding them helps build a more inclusive, compassionate community.

At the John McGivney Children’s Centre, we believe that inclusion means recognizing and supporting all abilities, seen and unseen.

Today we were once again honoured to receive a generous donation from our friends at the Moramos Shrine Club. Their incredible support for the John McGivney Children’s Centre began back in 2012, and over the years their contributions have totalled an amazing $64,000!

We are so grateful for their continued commitment to helping children and youth with disabilities reach their full potential. Your kindness and generosity make such a difference in the lives of JMCC families every day.

💜 Today is Dress Purple Day! 💜

Each October, Children’s Aid Societies across Ontario raise awareness about the important role that individuals and communities play in supporting vulnerable children, youth, and families through the provincial campaign.

At JMCC, our team is proud to wear purple today to show our support for children, youth, and families in our community, and to remind everyone that help and hope are always available. 💜
