It has been wonderful working with Ace and Emilia and I feel so blessed to be apart of his team! It has been great to see how he has progressed and developed to where he is now. I'm so thankful that I can help keep his body feeling balanced and strong, giving it the tools it needs to perform at its best. It has been so rewarding to see him thrive and I can't wait to see how he continues to grow and all the amazing things that he'll accomplish! ❤️.

In honour of spooky season, lets take a look at the horse's skeleton. Starting with the vertebral column.

The horse's vertebral formula is:
C7 T18 L6 S5 Cd 15-21

They have:
7 Cervical vertebrae
18 Thoracic vertebrae
6 Lumbar vertebrae
5 Sacral vertebrae (fused to form the sacrum)
15-21 Caudal (Coccygeal) vertebrae

Fun facts:
*The horse's skeleton contains 205 bones.
*Arabian horses have been noted to have one less lumbar vertebrae (so 5 instead of 6) as well as one less pair of ribs!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my amazing clients and their horses. I'm so grateful for you!

Massage therapy positively impacts your horse's body and overall well-being in a number of ways. The following are some of the benefits:

Increases circulation to muscle tissue to improve the nutrient supply and removal of wastes

Reduces muscle tension and maintains the functionality of soft tissue

Addresses areas of compensation due to injury or overuse and balances muscle groups

Encourages proper fibre alignment of normal or healing soft tissue

Helps to promote and preserve range of motion

Induces mind-body relaxation to establish an overall sense of well-being

Massage therapy can be a wonderful tool in your horse's program. Let's take a look at what it actually entails.

Massage begins with a full body assessment to determine areas of tension, heat, congestion, or abnormal tissue consistency. Various massage manipulations and techniques are implemented to improve upon these areas and promote overall balance and extensibility in muscles, muscle groups and other soft tissues. Massage can be used to address a wide variety of issues affecting your horse's body; these range from abnormal muscle tension and tone to acute, subacute and chronic conditions.
