123 Children with myopia between the Ages of 5 and 14 for every 1 Optometrist in Canada.👀

Left unmanaged, myopia can progress quickly, leading not only to thicker glasses but also to higher risks of eye disease in adulthood (retinal detachment, glaucoma, early cataracts)

🗓️📌 This back-to-school season, make sure your child’s vision is ready for learning, reading, and exploring.

🤔 Did you know that 80% of what a child learns is visual? 👀

That’s why the Eye See…Eye Learn® program, offered at Dr. Moussa Eye Care and Vision Therapy, ensures children entering Junior or Senior Kindergarten get the vision care they need:

👉🏽 Comprehensive eye exam (covered by OHIP)
👉🏽 One pair of high-quality glasses (if needed)

For the 2025–26 school year, children born in 2020 or 2021 are eligible. Exams run from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026.

Early detection matters: 1 in 5 kids has a vision problem at school entry, and many issues are mistaken for learning or behaviour challenges.

🗓️📌 Book your child’s appointment today with Dr. Moussa Eye Care and Vision Therapy in Windsor. Let’s set them up for success!

Screens are here to stay, but eye strain, dryness, and vision changes don’t have to be.
Digital devices can strain our eyes, especially for teens whose eyes are still developing. Reduced blinking, constant focusing, and long hours on screens can lead to fatigue, blurred vision, and headaches over time.

Following simple habits like the 20-20-20 rule, remembering to blink, and scheduling yearly check-ups can go a long way in protecting eye health.

👁️Book your teen’s next exam with Dr. Moussa to ensure their eyes stay healthy for school, sports, and everything in between.

Did you know Sjögren’s syndrome affects over 430,000 Canadians, with many cases going undiagnosed? This autoimmune disease doesn’t just cause dry mouth; it can seriously impact your eyes, too!

💡 Tips for Managing Dry Eyes with Sjögren’s
1️⃣Stay hydrated
2️⃣ Use preservative-free artificial tears
3️⃣Inform your optometrist if you’re taking any medicine (especially allergy medicine, as they may cause dryness)
4️⃣Avoid dry environments (use a humidifier if possible)

📢 Why Early Diagnosis Matters
Many Canadians suffer for years before getting diagnosed. If you have persistent dryness, fatigue, or joint pain, talk to your doctor, and don’t forget your optometrist! We can spot early signs and help protect your vision.

Did you know? Prolonged UV exposure damages eyes just like skin! ☀️👀 Unprotected eyes risk cataracts, macular degeneration, and photokeratitis (sunburn of the eye).

“Sunlight is the greatest source of UV radiation. Its UVA/UVB rays - and man-made UVC - can cause long-term damage.” (optom.on.ca)

How to stay safe
1️⃣ 100% UV-blocking sunglasses (Ask your optometrist which ones are right for you!)
2️⃣ Wraparound styles > Blocks side rays.
3️⃣ Kids need extra protection > Their eyes are more vulnerable!

Optometrist’s Tip: Clouds don’t stop UV! Wear sunglasses daily. 😎

👉🏽 July Exclusive: 30% OFF selected premium sunglasses & Transitions® lenses (clear indoors > dark in UV = seamless 100% protection)! 🎉 Hurry, supplies won’t last!

📅 P.S. Our Windsor optical team specializes in UV protection! Book now: https://www.moussaeyedoctor.com/appointment

These two easy steps will help reduce your child’s risk of developing myopia (nearsightedness).

1. Look 20 feet away for 20 seconds after every 20 minutes of near-work such as reading and using electronic devices.
2. Go outdoors more frequently. This will also promote a healthier lifestyle along with helping to prevent myopia.
