Worldwide, 15 percent of the population, or more than 1 billion people, are living with disability.

Today we celebrate International Day of People with Disabilities and honour all those living with a disABILITY. This year's theme is "Not all disabilities are visual". Not all disabilities are immediately apparent, as many people live with chronic pain, mental illness, learning differences, neurological disorders, and other invisible illnesses.

Today, and every day of the year, help us raise awareness and knowledge of all disabilities, both visible and invisible, and together we can help remove barriers and increase equality and accessibility for all.

Windsor Regional Hospital

‪Thank you to Wintex Safety, Universal Health Products and Transition to Betterness (T2B) for their donation of 25,000 masks to Windsor Regional Hospital & Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare! #TogetherWeStayStrong ‬

Transition to Betterness (T2B)

Windsor Textiles Limited, parent company of Wintex Safety and Universal Health Products partners up with Transition to Betterness (T2B) to donate 25,000 face masks to Windsor Regional Hospital and Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare

Windsor ON - T2B proudly partnered up with Universal Health Products (UHP) and Wintex Safety Equipment to donate 25,000 reusable face masks to Windsor Regional Hospital and Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare.

These essential masks are there to support staff and patients so that the vital N95 masks stay available to medical professionals. The 25,000 masks were locally sourced and will be given to staff and patients -they are washable and reusable.

"At the onset of this pandemic Wintex Safety & UHP started developing our plan for supporting our community. We began reviewing styles for cloth made masks in our production facility here in Windsor. We started making a couple of hundred masks a day and donating them to front-line workers. To date, we have donated over 3,000 of these cloth masks and have increased our production locally to 500 masks a day. We have provided these to numerous places, mostly health care facilities but also to local business with front line workers. We were very fortunate to secure stock of over 3,500 N95 masks which have all been donated to the hospitals. I feel strongly about the need to support each other and our front-line healthcare workers during these challenging times" - Fo Abiad, T2B Board Chair and Owner of Windsor Textiles Limited - Wintex Safety and UHP

"Thanks to the donation of 20,000 cloth masks, Windsor Regional Hospital is able to distribute masks to all staff for personal use. These are not intended to replace Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when caring for COVID 19 patients but will help equip our staff with and do our part in preventing community spread. We are grateful to Fo Abiad, Wintex Safety, Universal Health Products and Transition to Betterness, our charitable partner for their generosity during these very challenging times." – Gisèle Séguin B.S.W., MBA, Windsor Regional Hospital, Director Public Affairs, Communications and Philanthropy

“The safety and security of our Windsor-Essex community, our patients, and staff here at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare is our top priority. Windsor-Essex has always been a philanthropic community, and this pandemic has been no exception. Today’s donation from Transition to Betterness and Windsor Textiles Ltd. will continue to support the safety of both our staff and our patients. We would like to thank Amber and the team at T2B, as well as Fo Abiad the CEO of Windsor Textiles Ltd. and his entire team for their ongoing commitment in the fight against COVID-19. From their social media sign campaign, which spreads messages of thanks and gratitude to all frontline health workers, to today’s donation of masks, all of us at HDGH are extremely grateful.” Bill Marra, Executive Director of the Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare Foundation

"Our mission is based on providing comfort to those in our community. We're doing our best to give comfort, not only to patients right now but to the front-line warriors. These masks will help with the strain in essential supplies so that there will be more to go around. We are proud to do what we can to help during this pandemic. We hope that these protective materials will help bring a little ray of sunshine to both the front-line workers and their patients during this difficult time. Not only is this the most giving community but the strongest and together we will get through this." - Amber Hunter, Executive Director of T2B

If you're interested in helping us with our mission to support front-line workers, please contact [email protected]. Thank you, Windsor Textiles Limited - Wintex Safety and UHP, for your continuous support as we come together as a community.
