Know Me, Be Present, Walk in My Shoes, Earn Trust, and Follow Through form the pillars of our Customer Service Credo. Our newest graduates from this program are ready to put these learnings into practice!

On September 30th, we recognized Truth and Reconciliation Day. Everyone was invited to wear orange and a display is on Main Street to learn a bit about the significance of the day and to sign the pledge as a commitment to ongoing reconciliation with indigenous people.

It was a beautiful day for a Car Show! Residents enjoyed viewing the cars and all the memories that they brought to mind! We heard stories about riding in the back of a pick-up to go to the beach and delivering newspapers from a car just like the one that visited!
We really appreciate everyone who helped to make it a success... BIG THANKS to our drivers/owners who we love to see every year, and thanks to all our Team Members, Family Members and Co-Op Students who took the tour around the lot with Residents.

Today was Community Engagement Day in long-term care home across Ontario! At Aspen Lake, we chose to highlight the role the Program for Active Living and the Recreation Team play in well-being with a “Fitness Fun Day”!
We were so happy to have representatives from Andrew Dowie’s office join us! Jada & Cole presented the Village with a certificate from the MPP for our participation in the day, along with a promise that Andrew would be happy to see us another day!
Residents enjoyed playing bowling, corn hole, golfing and axe throwing… and showed how much fun it can be to stay active! The representatives also met with a few of our Fitness Centre “regulars” during their Nu-Step workout to find out how setting personal goals and working everyday to achieve them is important at every stage of life!

The Residents & Team Members of Walkerville Neighbourhood chose to support the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society with their "Community Give-Back" event! The Walkerville Neighbourhood sponsored a Dress-Down for a Cause event, a donation drive for supplies and baked & sold dog biscuits. Through their efforts, over $500 was raised for the Humane Society to support their work.
(While we themed our event around dogs, we were happy to meet the little orange kittens who were waiting to find their fur-ever home. You can see how cute they are from the pictures - but you will have to imagine the purring! They were so sweet!)
