Did you know…

That your RMT can help with more than just sore muscles.

Massage Therapy supports your body in more ways than you think.

Frequent headaches or jaw clenching?

Massage therapy can reduce tension in the neck, shoulders, and jaw, helping relieve pain and prevent flare-ups.

Massage Therapy can also help with Stress, Anxiety, Posture related pain and many more points that people often don’t associate Massage Therapy with.

Your body tells a story and that is where your RMT comes in. They are here to listen to it and help you move forward.

What is Narrative Therapy?

Joey Traa, MA Counselling, C.C.C. is one of our Registered Counsellors here at Alleviate Holistic Health.

Joey uses Narrative Therapy as one method for helping his clients reconnect with their values and move forward with confidence.

Narrative Therapy is a way to reframe the way you see your life story. The stories you tell yourself based on past experiences and struggles.

You don’t have to be an athlete to benefit from Athletic Therapy.

We see clients come into Alleviate thinking that their aches and pains are just apart of getting older, but in reality that is just not true.

Lingering pain from an old injury and loss of strength are just some of the things that you don’t need to live with.

Athletic Therapy for aging adults can help make movement easier and help with everyday things like walking and yard work.

It is time that you take comfort back into your own hands 💪.

Fire Cupping vs. Gua Sha: What’s the Difference?

While both techniques are used to help improve circulation and support your body’s natural recovery process, they work in different ways.

Fire Cupping is best for boosting blood flow while releasing tight fascia and muscle.

Gua Sha breaks up adhesions and encourages fluid movement in the tissues. It is a great support for lymphatic drainage and healing to relieve tension in the neck, jaw and face.

So which one is better?

It depends on your goals and current pain points. At Alleviate we offer both services and can help you find out which technique is best suited for you.

Book a session with us and let’s find the best fit for your body!

If it is your first time going to an Athletic Therapy session, here is what you can expect.

Before your session you will want to:

- Find comfortable clothing to wear. Think gym wear!
- Be ready to chat about any injuries, pain or movement issues you may be experiencing

Once you arrive your Athletic Therapist will go through a thorough assessment so we can understand what’s going on and tailor your treatment.

During your session be ready to experience different hands-on techniques like soft tissue release, cupping or taping.

You’ll also likely be given at home exercises or stretches to keep your progress going.

Whether you’re healing from an injury or looking to move better day to day, our Athletic Therapists are here to support your whole-body wellness.

Why fire?

From a glimpse the fire might look intense but it is actually an ancient method called Fire Cupping.

The fire removes oxygen from the cup creating a gentle suction when placed on your body.

This suction with increase blood flow and release muscle tension, giving your body a rest from the inside out.

This technique can be incredibly helpful if you’re:

🍃Struggling with chronic back or neck tension
🍃Recovering from athletic strain or overuse
🍃Experiencing symptoms of inflammation

Many of our clients are surprised by how relaxing it actually is and leave the clinic feeling looser, and more relaxed.

Curious about whether fire cupping is right for you?

Let’s chat! Our practitioners are here to guide you with comfort and care.
