Today, we remember Jordan River Anderson (October 22, 1999 – February 2, 2005) — a beloved little boy from Norway House Cree Nation whose life changed this country. Jordan spent all five of his years in the hospital, waiting for governments to stop arguing over who should pay for his care. He deserved to be home, surrounded by family and love.

Because of Jordan, Jordan’s Principle now protects First Nations children from ever facing those delays again. His spirit continues to guide us, and his legacy lives in every child who receives the care he was denied.

We honour you today and every day, Jordan!
