🥎 This team deserves a square on the feed— they won bronze at softball provincials🥉Varsity View battled in heat and wind all weekend, playing 8 games in 3 days (4 for playoff Sunday)
Elsie had the opportunity to pitch and closed out the final game— my heart is bursting with pride 🥰

It’s JUNE! It’s a busy time of year with school activities, spring sports, backyard bbqs, yardwork, recitals, family get togethers etc etc

Don’t put yourself on the back burner. Carve out 20 min for a walk, a new book, some stretching, or anything that gives you a minute to just BE. That can be a huge reset to be able to continue with all the busy-ness of this month

Accountability Story:

With my community, our workout plan includes a HIIT workout each week. If I’m being truly honest, it’s not my most favourite to do and is often left on the table if I’m short on time for the week. AND I KNOW that challenge = change, so if the HIIT is the hardest to do, it will likely offer the most change in my power and strength.

One day, I decided to ask Elsie if she would workout with me, explaining that there’s jumping exercises in a HIIT and that I was finding it hard to get my motivation. With ease, she said yes and her only requirement was that there weren’t any weights to hold….Ok yay! So we put on a 25min video, played some music and regularly high fived each other.

The result?
👏🏻 I loved it! It was so much more FUN to do it together
👏🏻She loved it AND asked to do it again next week 🤯
👏🏻We are a month in and loving this time spent together moving our bodies 💪🏻

This is the way accountability works!! Find a partner, friend, healthcare provider or even your child to help you get moving and check in regularly with them. Hold each other accountable by making a plan: When and where are you working out? What’s your workout going to be? Schedule it in together and know that You got this 🫶🏻

Physios need Physios too!!

Recently I had been dealing with some dizzy symptoms after our trip to Maui. Rather than waiting to see if it would get better, I booked a Vestibular Physio Assessment. I saw Kevin at our Meadowood Elite location and had a great experience! He was able to thoroughly assess my vestibular system, and determine the cause from my dizziness. FYI, the issue was stemming from my neck 🤯 He gave some hands on treatment, lots of education and prescribed a home program for me to be able to self manage. I already feel like I’m on the road to recovery in just 1 appointment 🙏🏻

I believe the key to taking care of others is building a relationship to work together in managing your injury. During our sessions in clinic, I use a variety of techniques— manual therapy, soft tissue massage, dry needling and acupuncture. But the main thing is education! We do a lot of discussion together to empower you with knowledge and movement to help you feel better between your appointments.
