What do you think?!

If you’re wondering what you’re looking at, the feet belong to a 40 year old patient of ours who has Downs Syndrome. Josh came to see us about three weeks ago when his mom and brother brought him in to see if I could help. As you can see from the photo taken 2 years ago of one of his feet on the left (both feet were like this), Josh came to see us looking like that.

He has a significant scoliosis in his spine which is not uncommon for people with Downs Syndrome. The rotation in his lower back as a result of this curve is very significant.

His family hoped that we might be able to help and my thinking was that it was likely that his issue with circulation could be due to his scoliosis interfering with blood flow and nerve signal to his lower limbs and ultimately his feet.

What did we do? After evaluating and x-raying his spine, I began to adjust him. The photo on the left is after adjusting him 6-8 times and was taken yesterday.

The power of a chiropractic adjustment, properly done, can have profound effects on the human body.

For Josh, this means he’s walking much better and with less effort, also seen by his caregivers. The more intangible is how have we changed his life? What might have happened to him if the poor circulation in his feet was allowed to continue? What limitations in his already limited life might he have experienced?

To be clear. I did not adjust Josh to treat his poor circulation in his feet. I adjusted Josh to restore more normal function to his spine and ultimately his nervous system. I would say we accomplished that goal in a short time. What do you think?

Today: Walking stick gone, jokes on full speed.

This video shows one of his favourite parts of care — our specialised table that helps keep his adjustments gentle, precise, and just the way he likes them.

When the hips shift and the low back compensates daily movements — even a trip to the gym — can feel like a struggle. However, gentle, targeted adjustments help restore motion, ease pressure, and get you back on track just in time to bounce back after the long weekend.

Pain on one side often means the other side is doing extra work. Today's adjustment focused on correcting the shift — reducing pressure, restoring function, and helping this patient feel ready for the weekend ahead.

Work’s can be stressful. This patient's body’s felt it.
She came in tight, tense, and doing her best to push through it.

With a few focused adjustments and some deep breaths, you can literally see the tension release.
Your spine holds more than just your posture—it holds your stress too.

Don’t carry it longer than you need to.

And now for something completely different. This patient came in after his last adjustment more than 4 weeks ago. Two weeks later he woke up with paralysis of his wrist and slightly in his fingers and up in to his forearm. After seeking medical advice he was told he had a compression of his radial nerve (a nerve in his arm) after sleeping with his arm in a weird position and was told he was suffering from what was described as a radial palsy. Latin for his arm was paralyzed. Not much of a diagnosis but hey. After adjusting him I saw on his arm what you see in the first frame above. I asked what happened and he said he noticed it after being at work for a while and thought it was a bite of some kind as it was painful. It was then that something clicked as what he thought was a bite seemed more like shingles to me. I then wondered if shingles (running along a nerve) could also affect his wrist. Surprise surprise. See the rare case of what I discovered and the CORRECT diagnosis for his forearm and wrist paralysis. When an innocent observation clicks in the mind of a Doctor of chiropractic.

When your body’s a little off, you know it.

This patient came in with some unusual tension up top. No major symptoms, but just not quite right.

A few targeted adjustments later… better movement, more ease, and that “ahhh, yes” feeling.

This patient felt immediate relief after her last adjustment, and now we’re helping her build on that progress. With each visit and small stretch of consistent care, the body begins to heal deeper.

Chiropractic care isn’t just about the adjustment—it’s about what happens between them.
