The College of Pharmacists of Manitoba invites all pharmacy professionals to attend an information webinar on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. This live webinar will provide essential insights into the transition of pharmacy regulation under The Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA). A recording will be available afterward on the Regulatory Reform Project webpage.

During the session, consultants Leanne Matthes and Liz Ambrose will explain what the RHPA is, how regulation under the RHPA differs from the current single-profession statute, what is required to move pharmacy professionals from regulation under The Pharmaceutical Act to regulation under RHPA, and the anticipated impact on all pharmacy professionals.

All pharmacy professionals are encouraged to participate to ensure a thorough understanding of the upcoming regulatory changes.

Naloxone is a life-saving medication that can temporarily reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. In Manitoba, it is available without a prescription. Naloxone may be located behind the pharmacy counter or within the retail area of the store. Individuals are encouraged to speak with a pharmacist to locate naloxone and to receive instruction on how to use a naloxone kit in the event of an opioid overdose emergency.

Free take-home naloxone kits are also available to members of the public who are at risk of opioid overdose (toxicity), as well as to family and friends who may be in a position to witness and respond to an overdose.
