One year of Academy Optical! Yay🥂
We quietly hit a big milestone this week….our one year anniversary owning Academy Optical. It’s been a year of growing, learning, and building something we’re really proud of💚!

We also had the joy of celebrating Rhonda’s 70th birthday—such a special milestone for someone who’s been part of Academy Optical for decades. It meant so much to share the day with you!
And… we did it! We completed our much needed renovation—just in time to wrap up our first year. Thank you so much for your patience during our one-month closure while we upgraded the space. It was a huge step, and we’re so glad to finally share the new and improved Academy Optical with you. I will post a video soon 😉.

To celebrate, we shared green and gold macarons from our favs —our Academy colours, of course—with all our patients. 💚💛

We’re still learning, still growing, and working out the kinks—but we’re getting better every day. Your support and understanding over the past year has meant the world. We’re so excited for what’s ahead—and can’t wait to see you soon!🙏🏽

Last night, we had the honour of attending a beautiful and intimate VIP gathering hosted by MLA Jennifer Chen (Fort Richmond), where we had the chance to connect with Adrien Sala, the MLA for St. James and Manitoba’s Finance Minister.

Thank you, Jennifer, for personally visiting our office to extend the invitation 🫶🏽.

It was a wonderful evening of meaningful conversation, where we got to chat with Minister Sala about our work in optometry and also hear about the exciting progress Manitoba is making to support local businesses and strengthen our economy.

Events like these are such a valuable opportunity to connect with other small business owners and build community. Grateful to be a part of it.

From 2 years old to 16 and now driving!!!! I’ve had the joy of seeing this incredible family grow over the years 🥹 Today, they surprised me with the newest member of their crew — sweet little Axel, just 7 weeks old 🐾He almost became our new therapy dog on the spot! Moments like this are everything. So grateful for families like theirs who’ve been with me through all the chapters 💛🙏🏽

Last night, Academy Optical had the honour of sponsoring the Youth Leadership Award at the Bulla Arts’ 10th Annual Talent Show — and I had the absolute privilege of presenting it to none other than my cousin, Sanjam Panag

Sanjam is currently in law school in Toronto, but home for the summer (still working hard of course with her incredible work ethic). I’m so proud of her drive, her dedication, and the way she’s paving her own path in a new city 🙏🏽.

The evening was full of good laughs, music, and powerful performances by the next generation of Punjabi talent in Winnipeg…..it was such a joy for my family to be part of it. I’m so inspired by what Bulla Arts is building, and I look forward to supporting their work in the years to come (and hopefully seeing my own kids involved one day too!).

Congratulations again, Sanjam — well deserved! You truly do embody what this award stands for. 🏆

So proud to witness and celebrate these phenomenal women shaping our communities with purpose and true passion. It was empowering sitting in the same room as these women full of such positive, uplifting and raw energy 🫶🏽. Thanx for being my date
