We’re so thrilled to have Katie Hastings Van join the team at Prairie Sprout! Katie is a Speech-Language Pathologist with a background in education and who uses a play-based, family-centred approach to therapy. Before becoming an SLP, she worked as a Kindergarten teacher, which deepened her understanding of child development and the importance of collaboration between families and school teams. She earned her degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Western University in 2024 and now works in a school division supporting students with a variety of communication needs, including articulation and language delays, and those who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Outside of work, Katie enjoys spending time with friends and family, travelling, and staying active.

We’re excited to welcome Andrea Goertzen to the Prairie Sprout team! Andrea graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Masters of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She currently works as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist. Andrea has a passion for speech sound disorders and play-based therapy. When she’s not working, Andrea enjoys going for walks, doing yoga, and traveling.

Variety Manitoba is bringing VOLT Hockey back for the 2025-2026 season!

They’ll be hosting a FREE “Come Try Volt Hockey” session on Sunday October 5th and October 19th at Dakota Community Centre.

Variety welcomes children and youth (ages 10- 18) living with disabilities and their families to join and learn more about this new sport opportunity.
