COVID-19 is still affecting people of all ages in our community. By getting vaccinated, you can protect yourself, avoid serious illness or long-term health conditions, and avoid spreading COVID-19 to other people around you.

Children as young as 6 months to 4 years old can get the Primary COVID-19 vaccine series. Children ages 5-11 can get the Primary COVID-19 vaccines and a first booster dose. And it’s recommended that everyone 12 and older get both Primary COVID-19 vaccines and booster doses.

Protect yourself. Protect the ones you care about.

Here's a glimpse into the last couple of weeks at some of the Bimaajihowin Mobile Outreach Pop-up Clinics!

We’re happy for all those who came by to the last few clinics at the North Point Douglas Women's Resource Centre, Turtle Island Neighborhood Centre, the Thunderbird house, and Ma Mawi.

We continue to appreciate those who share more about themselves with us after getting vaccinated. We love connecting over stories and it gives us better insight about the people we serve!

Shout out to our team members at each of our clinics and behind the scenes. Also, big thanks to the WRHA nurses, and the Ma Mawi team members. Some of our team are pictured here – including new outreach additions Jessica and Kayliee.

Stay tuned as we continue to announce pop-up clinics in the community!

We’re getting to meet so many people from all walks of life at our clinics and love being able to interact!

Pictured here is a gentleman named Don from Sagkeeng First Nation, who joined us last week at our pop-up clinic at the Thunderbird House. After being vaccinated, Don stayed with us to eat lunch and have a coffee while connecting over pictures and exchanging stories with some of our team members!

Along with those getting vaccinated, we’re meeting others serving the community, including team members from Anishiative who set up a community care camp warming tipi outside of the Thunderbird House during the cold snap last week in partnership with the SABE Peace Walkers.

This week, however, is off to a great start with warmer conditions and a pop-up clinic at Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre, Inc. on McGregor today! Here are a couple of our team members and the nurses on site today.

REMINDER: For those who want to catch one of our clinics at Ma Mawi – we are at 363 McGregor St every Tuesday and Friday in February from 10AM-2PM.

See you at the next one!

Have you been nervous about popping in to one of our clinics for a vaccine? We hope not!

Here’s another friendly face you might see at any of our pop-up vaccination clinics. Lynn - our Admin Assistant for the program does more than help behind the scenes. She’s one of our team members who are at each clinic to greet you, help answer any questions, guide you towards the nurses, and offer lunch and wellness kits following your vaccine!

If you’re afraid to get a flu, pneumonia, or COVID-19 vaccine – the friendly nurses at each clinic will be able to answer any questions you may have and make the process simple and quick.

As with all our clinics, all are welcome and each is a safe space for Indigenous people and those experiencing homelessness to get information and support.

Pop in to get your vaccinations this Friday, from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M., at Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre’s 363 McGregor St location, near Mountain Ave, in the gym. And we’ll also be downtown at the Thunderbird House, 715 Main St, near Higgins Ave.

No I.D. or health card is required. See you there!

Hopefully you’re staying warm out there!

We’re happy to have hosted a few pop-up clinics this week in some community-centred spaces that were so inviting to all who came out. We started with the Elmwood Community Resource Centre on Tuesday, and today we had two clinics running simultaneously at Ma Mawi on McGregor and at the Thunderbird House!

Here is a glimpse of those who were there. Adi and this kind couple were some of those who got vaccinated at the Elmwood Community Resource Centre on Tuesday. Ma Mawi not only hosted our clinic but provided a few bags of COVID-19 tests, masks, and other essentials – thank you! And we’re happy that many people came by to the Thunderbird house to not only get vaccinated but were able to get lunch and some wellness kits to choose from.

Also, big thanks to the WRHA nurses and our team members at each clinic and behind the scenes. A couple of our team members are pictured here – Miranda and Terrance, who do outreach in the community and greet everyone who comes by.

See you next week as we continue pop-up clinics in the community!
