If our clinical notes actually said what we're thinking, they’d be 90% confetti emojis and "LET’S GOOOO!"

It might sound clinical on paper… but we know how big that progress really is.

We’re always cheering you on!

Thinking the bench press is just a chest exercise?

It’s easy to assume that… but when it’s done well, it can be a full upper body movement working shoulders, core, and neck together. Here, our physiotherapist Karim Nweilati uses our new gym bench to demonstrate good bench press form.

We also like bench presses for when our clients need a step-by-step approach to building full-body strength.

The bench press on a bench allows you to focus more on one move, reducing the need to also pay attention to your core stability or your balance, for instance. Then we can work on those separately, depending on your condition or goals.

Physiotherapy treatment often includes strength training, but always make sure your exercises fit with your goals for rehab, life, or whatever you care about. For instance, bench presses can help with a goal as simple as getting up off the floor, or as challenging as doing 20 burpees at your fitness club.

How do vestibular physiotherapists figure out what’s causing your dizziness?

Sometimes it's true vertigo, but often it's something else. Dizziness symptoms can be vague, inconsistent, and hard to describe.

But your eyes are actually giving us clues 👀 They can reveal patterns that tell us if and how your inner ear is involved behind the scenes.

With Frenzel goggles, we magnify and observe your eye movements in real time, often on a screen, so we can catch subtle patterns that aren’t visible otherwise. 💻

Tiny, involuntary movements can tell us how your inner ear is functioning even when everything feels “off.”

👉 Connect with one of our vestibular physios for a more targeted assessment.

You’re deep in the "desk hunch": your neck feels three inches shorter, and that end-of-day tension is starting to kick in. 🧑‍💻

It happens more than you think. Long hours at a desk can leave your neck and upper traps feeling tight, especially if you haven’t moved much throughout the day.

Simple, controlled shoulder rolls can help reduce built-up tension and keep things moving throughout the day. 💪

Watch our physiotherapist, Karim Nweilati, show you this easy way to feel better. We're surprised how few desk workers use this powerful move.

👉 Save this for later and share it with someone who’s always at their desk!

You stretch your hips.
They feel better for 10 minutes…
then go right back to stiff.

Most people miss this when stretching:
👉 A “tight” feeling isn’t always about flexibility.
👉 It’s often about control.

Hip CARs (Controlled Articular Rotations) train your hip through its full available range. Actively, not passively (like stretching). 🦵

Done slowly, they can help your body get more familiar with those positions
and support your hips and lower back to move smoothly, especially after long hours of sitting.

🔗 If your hip pain keeps coming back, it might be time to take a closer look. Tap the link in our bio to book an appointment or give us a call!

This isn't your tattoo-removal laser, your hair-removal laser, or your laser cat toy! This is our low-level laser for rehabilitation, and it's completely different than all the other lasers you've heard about. We use it as evidence-based care for muscle, joint, and nerve conditions.

Laser treatment at our clinics is a pain-free, low-risk treatment option that can fit into your physiotherapy treatment plan. Our low-level laser machines help support tissue healing, reduce pain, and improve how the body recovers from a wide range of conditions.

And yes, we all wear the cute glasses when we bring out the laser.

Curious if laser therapy may be helpful for you? Call us to book physiotherapy with low-level laser. Or book a FREE 15-minute phone consult with one of our physiotherapists.

Is a straight knee calf stretch better than a bent knee calf stretch?

It depends what you’re working on!

Changing your knee position shifts which calf muscle you're stretching.

🦵 A straight-knee calf stretch targets the gastrocnemius, the muscle you work harder when walking.
🦵 A bent-knee calf stretch reaches a deeper muscle, the soleus, which you use more when running.

Both muscles help stabilize your ankle. Both are linked to achilles tendon and foot health. Both stretches tend to feel good after a long day on your feet. However, we don't recommend either stretch for a typical runner, since running needs natural calf muscle tightness.

Not sure what's right for you? Our physiotherapists assess your movement, your activities, and your goals to help you choose the right stretches for you (if any).

Hip rotations on the floor. Yes, the ones that look a bit like a windshield.

This exercise, demonstrated by our physiotherapist Karim Nweilati, helps the hips move through rotation, which is essential for walking, sitting, standing, and getting up from the floor. It targets internal and external rotation, the two things your hips need to stay "well-oiled."

By keeping these hinges moving smoothly, you’re not just helping your hips. You’re actually offloading stress from your lower back and knees.

Are you experiencing hip pain or stiffness? Physiotherapists are experts in drug-free pain relief for hips. Not sure if physiotherapy is right for you? Call us for a FREE 15 minute consult to find out:

Can deadlifts hurt your back?

Many people think deadlifts are risky and they avoid that type of movement. BUT DID YOU KNOW: deadlifts are actually a way to strengthen your back, if done properly.

Our physios often prescribe deadlifts as a structured way to help the spine tolerate everyday movements again, like bending, lifting, and carrying.
In every physiotherapy treatment plan, deadlifts are scaled to the individual. That might mean starting with lighter loads, a smaller range of motion, added support, or slower, more controlled movements. As our clients build strength and confidence, the exercise progresses gradually. We have tons of ways to make deadlifts work for you, your life, and your goals.

In this video, our physiotherapist Karim Nweilati demonstrates a very basic deadlift, with light weights and good form.

Curious about what YOUR customized physiotherapy treatment plan would look like? Call us to book with Karim or another one of our professional physiotherapists:
