We are deeply saddened by the passing of Tova Vickar.

Tova and her husband, Larry, have been devoted supporters of our Foundation and of many other causes across our community. Her name, Tova, means “good” in Hebrew - a symbol of the kindness she showed to everyone. She touched so many lives through her generosity and spirit and will be remembered for her warmth and compassion.

Our thoughts are with the Vickar family, the Vickar Automotive Group, and all who knew her. May her memory be a blessing.

Meet Raymond and Mona Souque.
 
Raymond survived a heart attack 16 years ago thanks to care at St. B — Manitoba’s cardiac centre of excellence. “Because of them, we are still a couple,” said Mona, his wife.
 
Grateful to the hospital, Mona and Raymond have been donors to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation for over 12 years and counting.

Dr. John Ducas, a cardiologist at St. B, has spent decades improving how heart attack care is delivered, focusing on smarter, faster ways to get patients the care they need. From reducing time to first ECGs to freeing up critical care beds, his work is improving patient outcomes across Manitoba.

In recognition of this impact, Dr. Ducas was honoured as one of this year’s recipients of the Ronald Duhamel Innovation Fund Award at our 2026 Donor Breakfast. Thanks to your support, innovators like Dr. Ducas can continue saving lives.💙
