What do we do with the things our loved ones leave behind?

Clothing, books, photos, furniture, everyday objects. After a loss, belongings can become so much more than “stuff.” They can hold memory, connection, comfort, pain, responsibility, and complicated questions about what it means to stay connected after someone dies.

Join us for WYG In Conversation: Grief and Belongings: Attachment Theory and Continuing Bonds with Litsa Williams and Charlene Lam, Founder of Curating Grief.

This free conversation will explore how Attachment Theory and Continuing Bonds can help grievers think about belongings after loss with more compassion, context, and care.

Palliative Manitoba held our Annual Hike for Hospice this past Sunday, May 24th , 2026 at Blue Cross Park, in conjunction with the Winnipeg Goldeyes. it was a beautiful morning and we were happy to have a small but robust group of hikers this year.

We are pleased to share that the event raised $27,984 in support of our programs and services. Our top individual fundraiser, Barbara Main, raised an incredible $24,971, and our top fundraising team was our Board of Directors, raising $3,013.

The day was filled with community and connection. It was wonderful to see so many people come together in support of compassionate care, grief support, and ensuring no one faces serious illness, end of life, or loss alone.

A huge thank you to Winnipeg Goldeyes Baseball Club for hosting the event, and the Lord Selkirk RFM Pipe Band for your enthusiastic musical accompaniment.

Thanks to everyone who donated, hiked and supported this important community event.
