At 12:30 p.m., we’ll be organizing a coordinated walk across Portage and Main, passing through four large temporary steel archways — a powerful visual statement of downtown connection.

From Turtle Mountain to Whiteshell and Riding Mountain National Park, Manitoba is full of trails that refresh your mind and challenge your body. Hiking is one of the best ways to stay active, but without the right posture, your back might not enjoy the view as much as you do.
🌲 Strengthen Your Core
A strong core keeps you steady on rocky trails and uneven ground. Add planks, bird dogs or bridges to your routine for extra spinal support.
🌲 Choose the Right Shoes
Proper footwear cushions your joints and reduces pressure on your spine. Look for good grip, ankle support and a snug fit to prevent unnecessary strain.

🤔 Fact: Your sleeping posture significantly impacts your spinal health!

While comfort is certainly important, it's not the only factor when it comes to healthy sleep and a happy spine. Many common sleeping positions, particularly sleeping on your stomach, can lead to prolonged strain on your neck, lower back, and even your shoulders. This can cause discomfort over time, leading to aches, stiffness, and potentially contributing to chronic pain issues.

To properly support your natural spinal alignment, we recommend aiming for sleeping on your back or side.
✅ Back Sleepers: A small pillow under your knees can alleviate lower back pressure and maintain your spine's natural curve.
✅ Side Sleepers: Ensure your pillow fills the gap between your head and shoulder to keep your neck neutral.
✅ Side Sleepers (Bonus Tip): Consider a pillow between your knees to align your hips and pelvis, reducing strain on your lower back.
