Did you know? The first mass-produced toothbrush was invented in the UK by William Addis while he was in prison around 1780.
Noticing that prisoners cleaned their teeth with rags, soot, and salt, he crafted a toothbrush using a small animal bone and tufts of bristles, glued in place so they wouldn’t fall out. After his release, he started producing toothbrushes for the public - a tiny invention that changed dental hygiene forever!
