It’s the idea that winter isn’t for pushing harder or reinventing yourself-it’s for conserving energy until the light returns.
After the busy run-up to the holidays, many of us arrive in January already tired. Then comes the pressure to reset, hustle, and do more. But if your energy feels low or your body is asking for quieter days, that makes sense-especially in midlife, when your body isn’t interested in performing on cue.
Caring for yourself might look like gentle movement, nourishing food, or simply slowing down. That’s care, not punishment.
Some people love going full throttle in January-and that’s okay too.
But there’s also permission here to rest without guilt, to listen inward, and to let January be January.
If things feel slower, nothing is broken.
You might just be wintering. ❄️🫶🏻
