Somali Public Health Youth Organization - Sophyo SOPHYO is committed to reduction public health problems; provide public health practices, minimizing/eliminating poverty and all its vices especially

SOPHYO is a member based, non-profit, non-government organization working in the best interest of the forethought that care and development of the community has to be touched at all points: protection, elimination, reduction and controlling of disease. and the promotion of health education, hygiene programs, social and political towards health concept and environmental sanitation. It was founded

in May of the year2014 by a group of self-motivated and dynamic youths dedicated to the idea that as the power of spirit rises within so does the desire to serve the community. The Organization will:

• Remain a non-political entity
• Remain non-profit making entity
• Continue to administer a gender balanced development strategy, taking into consideration the special needs of children and the handicapped
• Continue to be outcome-based in all its health programs. SOPHYO will focus on prevention, promotion and protection rather than on treatment, on populations rather than on individuals, and on the factors and behaviors that cause illness and injury rather than the illness and injury itself.
