The producer mixer is for everyone! Yarn, roving, dye plants, raw fleeces, tanned hides and more will be available for sale.

You do not have to be a part of the One Year One Outfit challenge to participate. This will be an incredible opportunity to meet our local farmers and producers who grow fibre, manufacture yarn and grow dye plants!

Meet the farmer who grows your fibre at our Pembina Fibreshed Mixer.

is a favourite among past OYOO participants who have used the beautiful shetland batts and locks for their project.

“I have been raising a small flock of Shetland sheep and Angora goats in SE Manitoba for over 20 years. I do my own processing producing wool batts for hand spinning and felting. I also have raw, washed fleece, mohair locks and hand spun yarn.” - Barb Mulock owner of Prairie’s Edge

What if you could meet the farmer who grew the fibre for your next project?

The Pembina Fibreshed Mixer is an evening dedicated to connecting fibre producers with the makers who transform their materials into textiles and clothing.

Meet Shirley of who will be bringing a curated selection of Navajo-Churro products, including single ply yarns in natural colours ranging from white to heathered brown, washed wool locks, and carded wool for felting. Shearing day is just around the corner so a couple of freshly skirted fleeces will be making an appearance as well.

Come spend the evening:

🐑 Meeting local fibre farmers
🌱 Learning about fibre crops and animals
🧵 Discovering regional wool, fibre, and textile materials
💬 Having real conversations about where our clothing begins

Riverview Community Centre (90 Ashland Avenue, Winnipeg)

Friday, April 10

Suggested donation of $5 at the door.

Come meet the people who grow your fibre.
