One Year One Outfit, or OYOO, is a community project where participants design, source, and create an “outfit” of wearable garments, accessories, or adornments made with fibre and other materials sourced from within the Pembina Fibreshed. And community is the key word.

You’ll work alongside and learn from other creatives from across the fibreshed. You share in the joys, successes, set backs, and motivation, all while supporting local initiatives.

Registration for the 2026/2027 Cohort opens on March 1, 2026. Head to the Pembina Fibreshed website for more information, or to register for our online info session being held on March 10!

Producer members and Icelandic sheep farmers will once again be in the Red Barn with their sheep and beautiful wool products.

Zoë and Craig and their 3 kids farm near Gimli, Mb and focus on land regeneration, purebred Icelandic breeding stock and collaborations with artists to bring beautiful wool products.

The Last Dance Ranch is a small, diverse farm located in the heart of Manitoba’s Interlake, established in 2013 by LeVerne Tucker. LeVerne originally started her fibre journey with alpacas and llamas over a decade ago and but changed to Icelandic sheep for their smaller stature, calm demeanor, and ease of management for a one-woman operation.

Leverne produces beautiful sheepskin products including rugs, throws, collars, hats and more - these items are unique and beautifully crafted - and all sourced within 200km of Winnipeg, be sure to stop by the booth

The Pembina Fibreshed has some incredible Alpaca producer members who will be in the Market Hall during the upcoming

Stop by and check out their beautiful alpaca yarn, woven rugs, finished goods like hats and so much more. Once you feel their beautiful fibre you won’t be able to resist picking some of it up.

Randy and Kim Dyck brought home their first 4 Alpacas in September 2014, and the herd has grown to 10 animals. The farm is located in Stephenfield close to Stephenfield Provincial Park and within minutes of the beautiful rolling hills of Roseisle. The back hills of the property offer views of the park and the farm fields surrounding the property

Celebrate the creative talent and passionate producers in the Pembina Fibreshed by visiting the One Year One Outfit display at the 2025 Manitoba Fibre Festival.

This is slow fashion. Over 20 participants took 12 months to create over 60 items using natural materials sourced within this local area.

You will find vests, hats, boots and bags made from foraged and harvested materials such as stinging nettle fibre, elk hide, husky fur, fishskin, and cattail leaves.

You will also find skirts, shawls and hats made of fibre grown by one of the many Pembina Fibreshed producers, and created using a variety of skills such as handspinning, knitting, crocheting and felting.

Stop by and see all the incredible items made from within 200km of Winnipeg.

We are looking for dedicated community members who want to work together to promote sustainable textiles in our fibreshed.

Skills are not required - just a volunteer commitment and an eagerness to get involved.
