Eternal Harmony Block Therapy BlockTherapy is a simple and efficient body work practice that removes restrictions in your body, releases pain and improves energy, blood and oxygen flow.

Block Therapy is body work practice that is therapy, exercise and meditation all in one. It releases restrictions in the tissue created over time due to shallow breathing and improper posture. The Block Buddy, a handcrafted therapeutic tool made from cedar, is the medium used to facilitate this. Using gravity and body weight, the Block Buddy is able to sink deeply into the tissue. This pressure, brings increased blood and oxygen flow into the area warming up the connective tissue and "melting" the powerful seal between the layers of unhealthy restrictions. Block Therapy is simple to follow, safe and effective program. It provides the vehicle to allow the body to reconstruct damaged cells, bringing life and health back to the tissue. Growing up in Bulgaria, I used to spend a lot of my summers with my grandparents. They had and still have a huge fig tree, in their yard. All the best figs were of course higher up on the tree, so I would climb very carefully on the chicken coop, taking very slow steps and making sure I don’t fall through the roof. Biting into those ripe, sweet figs was worth all the risk. 😁

My баба Сийка made the best jam from those figs. On one of her visits here, my mom brought us a jar of figs jam she had made, using my grandma’s recipe, with figs from that same tree. I savoured every tea spoon on French toasts and crapes. Every bite reminded me of my childhood and those careless, hot summer days.

The world is under a lot of stress right now. Connecting to full diaphragmatic breath is both calming and meditative.

In Block Therapy one of the foundations we focus on is opening up the ribcage to strengthen proper diaphragmatic breathing so we can feed our cells proper amounts of oxygen as well as move the waste out of the system. There are so many benefits to breathing through the diaphragm. The challenge however, is that our core has become compressed and frozen, compromising our breath.

This FREE Class will teach you how to work with a partner in decompressing the fascia in the ribcage. As long as you can be in physical contact with the individual, you can learn how to apply pressure into the core and ribcage to benefit you in a similar manner as Blocking would do.

ЧЕСТИТА БАБА МАРТА!
When I was a kid I always got excited at this time of the year with the tradition of Баба Марта (Baba Marta).
On March 1st I would take bracelets of red and white thread to school to put on my friend’s wrists and got my wrists decorated with them as well. Each tie carrying a special wish. We wore them for health and good luck. Today, I have carried the tradition with my kids thanks to my lovely parents always making sure we have a supply of мартеници (martenitsi) every year.

There are many legends of where this tradition originated. Basically, it is a symbol of the strong connection between all Bulgarians around the world and it represents strength, happiness, peace, integrity love, friendship and health.

In Bulgaria we used to take them off when we see a sign of spring a stork or a swallow or a blooming tree, usually towards the end of March. It is a little bit difficult to do that here in Canada as spring arrives much later and there are no storks or swallows where we live. So we end up wearing them for a little bit longer until we see a robin or our tree blooms.

These are the power words I have chosen for this year to motivate me and help me focus on living intentionally.

I have set an alarm a few times a day that bring those words to my attention and at different parts of the day, I like to focus on a different word to create habits that will support it. I focus on DISCIPLINE first thing in the morning to set the pace for the day. ENERGY, shortly after lunch when I feel I start loosing steam to do something to bring it back up. PRESENT later in the afternoon and evening to be fully in the now with my family.

Make 2020 the best year ever!
I am seeing a lot of this and similar sayings around this time of the year. We are setting goals for change and new year resolutions. But what makes 2020 different from 2019 or 2018 or 1999?

What I have found is that change will not happen with a flip of a calendar. Just because the date changed, doesn’t mean we will change. We can’t become the person we want to be in 2020 with the same level of thinking that got us through 2019. It all starts with SELF-LOVE. It doesn’t matter what goals you set, if you continue to talk to yourself with the same language you have used up until now, soon you will scare yourself from going for those goals. So be KIND to yourself and to those around you.

Instead of striving to be more in 2020, how about becoming a better version of yourself. Give yourself permission to DREAM and set big goals. Goals that will not only help you grow into the person you are meant to be but goals that will INSPIRE a change in the world around you. You will not always know how, but have the COURAGE to step into the unknown. Be INTENTIONAL in every action you take and every word you speak and TRUST yourself that you know exactly what to do at any given moment. Be PRESENT and focus on today. Be DISCIPLINED to take little steps, every single day towards your goals/dreams.

As I am going through the 21-Day Therapeutic Program for Low Back and Hips program, I am reminded of one of the main reasons why we don’t experience long term relief from pain. Here is the secret!

Every pain site, has an equal and opposite cause site. When we try to relief pain, we tend to focus on where the pain is. To truly find freedom, we need to find that cause site and release the fascia holding in that area all the way to the bone. For example, If you are having pain in your SI joints, a direct cause site that you need to release is the p***c bone.

This 3 part series will be focused on releasing the adhesions in the shoulders, freeing up the shoulder blades from the ribcage and lifting the ribcage to be a strong support for the shoulder joints, head and neck.
