The picture of the four elements in the Tarot that was embroidered by my mother long long ago, had previously been on the cushion of my reading chair, and was getting worn out a bit. My cousin helped by taking it off the cushion and cleaning it. We took it to a framer and had it properly mounted. It’s back home and is watching over things. -Grateful ❤️🌻🙏

My kind landlord gave approval for my brother Dan Thorkelson’s painting to be outside my apartment door. It fits perfectly in the alcove and my neighbor who shares that entry way space also likes it very much.
It looks like a gallery installation. Art can help to set an energetic intention and Dan’s work is an aspect of what I do and who I am. I feel like it is part of the Greater Creator watching over us all. I’m very pleased and blessed 🙏❤️

Reflecting on finding peace and understanding when there’s an argument or turmoil, to try and hold space and hear one another, I am reminded of something my dad used to say; “Sometimes what’s more important than being right, is what gets left”.

Regardless of whoever wins the upcoming federal election it’s going to be close and we are all going to have to pull together. Let’s stop vilifying one another and look for constructive unity.

Oh and yes, I’ve already voted. 🍁

Sunflowers are very much in the news these days. They are the national flower of the Ukraine and hopefully the sharing of them gives support and strength and clarity in these challenging times.

In the traditional symbolism of the Smith/Waite/Rider Tarot, sunflowers have a special significance, relating to optimism, clarity and self honesty.

The Sun card has a joyous energy, with nothing hidden in the shadows. The happy child on the horse is safe. The horse (representing the instincts) is calm.

On the Queen of Wands the symbols embody constructive-ness, the little black cat has a territorial awareness, the wand she holds is her ability to work with challenges and the sunflower she holds helps her to see in herself what is in others and vice versa.

These are not the entirety of the card’s meanings, just some random thoughts. In these challenging times, let’s strive to be constructive, clear and honest, with others and ourselves. 🌻
