Marwa Suraj’s piece in the Winnipeg Free Press calls attention to the crisis in elder care in Manitoba. Whether relying on home care that might not be there when they need it, or struggling to afford long term care, our seniors are too often left to suffer in silence. More action is needed to address the staffing shortages and administrative problems leaving Manitoba’s seniors without the care they need. We need public solutions and to keep profit motives out of elder care in Manitoba.
