As one of the speakers at today’s rally said “let’s kill the stigma so we can keep saving our relatives.”

Marwa Suraj’s piece in the Winnipeg Free Press calls attention to the crisis in elder care in Manitoba. Whether relying on home care that might not be there when they need it, or struggling to afford long term care, our seniors are too often left to suffer in silence. More action is needed to address the staffing shortages and administrative problems leaving Manitoba’s seniors without the care they need. We need public solutions and to keep profit motives out of elder care in Manitoba.

We need to work together to make sure all Manitobans can access the health care they need safely and equitably, regardless of income or identity.

New op-ed in the WFP: Pharmacare at risk.

We need to keep the pressure on the federal government to prioritize health care spending and invest in Canadians’ wellbeing across the country. That means ensuring federal health transfers keep the pace with inflation and our aging population, and it means continued investment toward universal Pharmacare and Dental Care.

HSC nurses have overwhelmingly voted (94%) to grey list the facility due to the Employer’s ongoing failure to address critical safety concerns. Nurses have made it clear that safety must be a priority.

Everyone should be able to access the medication they need, regardless of where they live or what's in their bank account.

While some Canadian provinces move ahead with Pharmacare, others are left behind in a frayed patchwork that goes against the spirit of the Canada Health Act.

Pharmacare is the kind of nation‑building investment Canada needs right now: it strengthens our healthcare system, saves money, and lets everyone live with dignity.

Let’s fulfill the promise of universal healthcare. Invest in care. No broken promises. Pharmacare now. ❤️
