A Heartfelt Thank You to Ed and Lily Schreyer who dropped in to see us today at Concordia.
We were delighted to welcome Ed and Lily Schreyer to the Hip and Knee Clinic today! Their visit was made even more special by Lily’s generous donation of several new pieces of her incredible artwork.
Lily’s art brings warmth, beauty, and inspiration to our space, and we are truly honoured to display her work throughout the hospital and the clinic. Her creativity and kindness continue to brighten the walls — and the hearts — of everyone who visits. Her artwork is a true masterpiece that spans so many landscapes and forces you to stop and reflect on each piece.

Thank you, Ed and Lily, for your ongoing support and generosity. Your contributions make a meaningful difference in our healing environment. And thank you to this wonderful couple who have served the Province of Manitoba for so many years of public service.

Julie Ames has been a dedicated volunteer with Operation Walk for several years. She is one of those rare individuals who selflessly gives to others and has found her true calling as a nurse and a healer.

My “Why”
I’ve been a nurse for nearly 20 years.

My journey is shaped by love and support from my family: my five children, a wonderful husband, two loyal dogs, parents who’ve been married for 50 years, and an incredible older brother. My extended family includes a remarkable mother-in-law who has been a nurse in California for over 40 years and a late father-in-law, a social worker who lived a full life in a wheelchair after contracting polio at 19. Though I never met him, his legacy has profoundly guided my life.
