Week, I am ready for ya!

This weekend gave me so much time to recharge and breathe. We played and couch potatoed and walked and laughed and pet kittens. Thank you to Mother Earth for the warm sun and beautiful colours outside. Happy first week of a October everyone.

I’m off on vacation! So thankful for how fulfilling and meaningful my work is with each person who spends time with me. And so thankful to take time off with my adorable daughter and husband (the husband can be adorable too). So thankful to be able to travel and see more of my diverse country and experience the East Coast wife the first time with Az**el and Happy long weekend!

Anyone else confused by the sudden end to the pandemic. I feel worried for my daughter who is not vaccinated because no one has figured out how to be protect her age group. I feel saddened by the many deaths we are still seeing everyday and immeasurable case counts they’re faking. I feel deeply enraged that the childish Manitoba Conservative Party is gambling with our lives.

And with the major shift in perspective, I also feel excited that I can once again fly to another city and get a break from the constant stress and alert of the past 2 years. I feel grateful that I can invite people to share a meal in my home and that my kid can attend birthday parties with her friends.

I am confused. I want a debrief. I need to grieve our losses and celebrate our strengths. But we’re just instructed to move on. Live with it. Get over it. We’re on our own. This pandemic was not okay. It is collective trauma. We need a debrief. We need an opportunity to cry together. Share our stories and hear comforting words like, “Me too”, “I get it” & “You’re not alone.”

If you’re confused like me, I get it. If you feel sad and scared and lonely, you’re not alone. If you’re angry with the virus, me too.
I see you. Thank you for getting through this. Thank you for getting ME through this. We need you. Keep going.
