Hey Manitobans and folks with family or friends living in Manitoba who are 65 and older:

⭐ the Safe and Healthy Home for Seniors Program, funded by the Manitoba Government and being administered by March Of Dimes Canada is now accepting applications!

🎉 We are excited for eligible seniors in Manitoba to finally have funding for essential devices and home adaptions. We are thrilled that the government heard our advocacy for needing assessment to be part of the application process.

We encourage folks to ask their medical practitioners how they can access an occupational therapist through our public health system, but for those who do not have timely access to an OT, Enabling Access is here to help expedite the application process with timely and comprehensive OT assessment and documentation to accompany your application to the program.

👇 To learn more about the program, download the application to the program and book an OT assessment, visit us at:

As National Accessibility Awareness Week comes to a close we have a final CALL TO ACTION:

The Department of Occupational Therapy at University of Manitoba is working with Incluzia to conduct a research study called "Occupational Therapy Home Assessment Methods and Priorities".

✨ If you are an Occupational Therapist, OT Educator, OT Researcher, or OT Student, we are currently seeking participants to answer a questionnaire that will inform our research.

✨ Please consider participating in this questionnaire (that includes viewing a short video) which will help identify current Home Assessment methods and priorities for improvements and sharing with your OT network.

For access to the questionnaire, please scan the QR code in the attached image or or click on this link: 👇

If you have any questions about this research, please contact Dr. Jacquie Ripat at 204 318 2558 or jacquie.ripat@umanitoba.ca

✨ May 26-June 1 is Accessibility Awareness Week in Canada!
This week we are celebrating the progress made in building a more accessible and disability-inclusive Canada.

🏢 ♿ May 29- I'm teaching "Creating an Inclusive Workplace" course for The University of Winnipeg PACE, so another batch of HR professionals will be graduating in June with new accessibility and accommodation knowledge and more inclusive attitudes for the lucky Manitoba workplaces who hire them.

🏠 ♿ May 30- Incluzia's Modifications Symposium in Calgary, sponsored by Pinnacle Renovations is now SOLD OUT! 60 and supporters of home modifications, along with 10 product exhibitors, will leave with new knowledge, relationships and solutions to help clients throughout Alberta.

Other Events in Manitoba:
🖥 ♿ In Manitoba, the Accessibility Office of MB is offering free digital and social media webinars this week: https://accessibilitymb.ca/resources-events-and-training/awareness-dates.html

Whatever you are doing this week, please remember to include and learn from people with disabilities who have lived experience facing barriers.
