Does it feel dangerous to rest?

Resting can feel 'unproductive' and downright dangerous to a nervous system used to being in mobilization. Especially to a solo-preneur.

It's actually very productive inner work.
~Dismanteling perfectionism
~Releasing responsibility where it doesn't belong
~ Practicing checking in on 'honest capacity' (the no coffee helps with that honesty part)
~Offering space & Grace to oneself
~ Acknowledging & fear of falling into a hole or worse, falling behind.
~ all the things
~ all is well

Full Body No

The last couple months have been beautifully full on. My internal 'spring prancing horse' got right out of the barn this Spring with 5 presentations in 6 weeks.

Not enough recovery time built in. It happens. I said YES to the things.

My adrenals started wagging a finger at me over a month ago.

Knowing & doing are not the same thing folks.

I coach nervous system & listening to your body for a living. I even give clients a 'Burnout Recovery' tip sheet.

So it was a little humbling to hit a 'full body NO' 2 weeks ago at the gym. Zero gas in the tank. Hello late stage burn out.

So I've been listening.

Grateful we own a rural retreat space that I can retreat to MYSELF. The last couple weekends I've been prioritizing:

~ Quiet: less people, less tech, more birds
~ Slow: taking foot off gas - on the highway & my breath
~ Checking my capacity: declining, doing less
~ Getting great body treatments: letting others take care of me.
~ Really nutritious & nourishing food.
~ Sleep & light hygeine,
~ Eliminating coffee (I know, booo!)
~ The right kind of company
~ Did I say food?

Burnout is real. Do yourself a favor & listen at the 'wired & tired stage' instead of waiting to be 'out of gas'.

Cause really, who wants to give up coffee?

What are you unconsciously picking up?

These balls get used for more than increasing connection to felt sense...

Last week there was a 'Spring Overwhelm' theme with woman after woman walking in the door reporting:
~ early stage burnout - wired & tired
~ chest pressure & tightness
~ heart palpitations & panicky breathing
~ 3 am wake-ups
~ diarrhea
~ exhausted, shutdown in late burnout

From having picked up & juggling too many balls:
~ this season
~ this phase of life
~ since (name age you started picking up more than was yours)

We dumped the balls on the floor.

They picked up and named what they were carrying- things like:
~ caregiving elderly parents
~ work, deadlines
~ laundry
~ chauffeur
~ making & rescheduling family appointments
~ groceries, planning meals cooking
~ course load
~ tending to grief
~ healing childhood trauma
~ planning vacations
~ parenting
~ emotional labour for this & that person

Trying to pick up & balance all the balls while
chuckling about the size & shape chosen for each. Unrealized burdens surfacing. Longing for space.

"That's a lotta fu***ng balls", "I need space to grieve, I have to set these others down in order to do that"

Oof.

Dumping them back on the ground.

Consciously choosing what they are picking up for this season, this phase of life.

"I went for a walk underneath the moon and I asked her for a song to guide me through the darkness."

Funny, the May flower moon pulled me out of the house for another look last night. I got a little closer to the light, coyote yippin be damned.

I made me own intentions clear.

Done with the "darkness of self-doubt burnin out my lightness"

What old protective patterns are you so very clearly done with?
