Singer/guitarist/storyteller/entertainer Wayne Wazny is versatile performer, who calls himself an “old-time fiddler”, also plays waltzes and polkas on his sweet-toned violin.
“I play happy songs”, he said. Wazny said he sings and plays whatever he thinks his diverse audience will enjoy.
With his pleasant baritone voice and folksy manner, he endears himself to his listeners. One of Wayne’s audience’s favourite ditties is his Auctioneer’s Song, which reveals his formidable talent. Wazny was a country auctioneer for 13 years.
Wazny’s plans are ambitious. He has written 26 songs. “They’re gospel as well as love songs,” he said. He felt it was time “to sing some of my own songs”.
In his past, Wazny was a driver’s education teacher and coordinator of the driver’s ed program for the Lord Selkirk School Division. He said he enjoyed the job until the kids started calling him “old man.”
Wazny’s parting words of advice are “health is the most important thing.”

“Vodohrai Ukrainian Choir” is based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Maryka Chabluk recognized the talent in the newcomers from Ukraine and invited them to come together to sing, preserve, and promote Ukrainian cultural traditions through music. Directed by Bohdan Hoi, our choir serves as both a cultural initiative and a support community for newcomers adjusting to life in Canada. Wonderful friendships have evolved from our musical connection to the choir. Each member brings their talents and positive energy to the choir.

Mriya, Ukrainian Youth Vocal Ensemble was formed in December of 2023 when Maryka Chabluk discovered the amazing passion and talent of these young singers. Under the direction of Maryka Chabluk they strive to improve their listening and singing techniques. Many of the songs in their repertoire are songs of their love for their homeland Ukraine. Some songs are in English. They also enjoy singing modern Ukrainian pop songs and traditional folk songs.
