Eyaa-Keen Healing Centre Inc. offers Indigenous Mental Health Services to victims of trauma. Our unique services take a Traditional Indigenous approach to trauma treatment and psychological rehabilitation. Our Traditional-based services are founded on the premise that to be well and thriving, one must lead their own life from a place of knowingness, grounded and supported in our Natural Spiritual Principles and Ways. Eyaa-Keen has over 25 years of experience helping victims of trauma heal and find peace through Traditional therapy. Our programs and services are designed to improve the well-being of Indigenous people who have experienced trauma, whether from crime, su***de, family violence, child welfare or the legacy of Indian Residential Schools. Our programs parallel the western clinical system to address and overcome chronic mental health issues including anxiety and fear, depression and hopelessness, and grief and loss. Additionally, we expand our programs beyond the boundaries of western therapy and counselling and follow a series of Indigenous Traditional based sessions to deliver integrated physical, emotional, mental and spiritual treatment, healing and development. All services and programs at Eyaa-Keen are based on Indigenous Traditional patterns of healing. These patterns are unique and multi-layered and are different for each Indigenous individual. While western systems of therapy often do not recognize these patterns, our Indigenous Traditional based therapy understands these patterns and we work with each individual to create a healing plan that is unique to them.
