Hey parents — if your teen struggles to talk about how they’re feeling, you’re not alone. So many teens find it hard to open up with words.

That’s why I love using creativity in therapy — art, writing, anything creative! It gives teens another way to express what’s going on inside, without the pressure of “having the right words.”

Creative therapy can help them process emotions, build confidence, and develop healthier ways to cope — in a way that feels natural to them.

Sometimes, a paintbrush or a notebook can say more than a conversation ever could. 💛

If you’re curious about how this can help your teen, feel free to reach out!

What an incredible and heart-opening weekend at with the amazing team—no one puts on a weekend quite like they do!

🌟 Some personal highlights:

✨ .saranasserzadeh absolutely blew me away. "True love should give your heart a break, not break your heart"—yes. Her 6 ingredients for building a lifetime of love were inspiring, insightful, and deeply moving. I could have listened to her speak all day—she was the highlight for me.

💬 and opened my eyes to the power of creating agreements around conflict, what it means to revitalize masculinity, and one important question to sit with: Can your partner be caring toward you even when they can’t meet your needs? So powerful.

🧠 had us reflecting deeply on the stories we’ve been told about love—and the ones that keep us stuck. It was an honour to hear her speak in person.

📱 offered some real talk on the modern dating landscape and how communication can make or break connection.

💞 And of course, hearing from the legendary duo, John and Julie Gottman, and , who reminded us that pleasure, presence, and honest conversations are essential for deep and lasting intimacy.

This weekend was just as much for me personally as it was for showing up better for my clients. I’m leaving inspired, grateful, and filled with new tools and insights.

Thank you for curating such a beautiful and meaningful experience. So much gratitude! 💫

If you or someone you know could use support, I have openings available in April. If you don’t have insurance, I offer a sliding scale based on income—please reach out for more details.

Taking care of our mental health is just as important as nourishing our bodies and staying physically active. We can’t fully support others until we take care of ourselves. If you’re struggling in your relationships, dealing with anxiety, noticing changes in your mood, or finding it harder to cope with stress, it may be time to seek support. I’m here.

What Does It Mean to Be a Strong Woman?

I recently read a description of strength that defined it as endurance—holding everything together, never breaking, because there was no other option. It spoke of a woman who carried the weight of the world on her own, rarely asking for help and even less often accepting it. She remained unyielding, believing that bending would be a sign of weakness.

This made me reflect on the difference between being strong and being resilient, and how I’ve embodied both throughout my life.

To me, strength is marked by sheer determination—a woman who pushes through no matter what. She sacrifices, endures, and grits her way forward, often at the expense of her own well-being. She doesn’t bend, because bending feels like breaking. Trust is hard-earned, and hope is fleeting.

But resilience—that’s different. A resilient woman is still strong, but she has learned to soften. She knows when to lean on others and when to ask for help. She gives herself permission to rest before she burns out. She allows space for healing and growth when faced with setbacks, loss, or adversity. She bends but doesn’t break, learning to adapt and rebuild. And most importantly, she holds on to hope.

So, what do you think?

Is there a difference between being strong and being resilient? 💙

Today I needed to remember this, so I wanted to share it here as well. Moving forward doesn’t always have to be a big dramatic leap, it can sometimes just be one small step in the right direction.

This also looks different for everyone. Maybe it’s that today you showered, did your hair, and got dressed. Maybe it’s that you just showered.

For some people it means getting one thing done on your to do list. For others it means that they caught themselves before they judged another person and themselves.

Whatever that one small step is for you, I’m proud of you today for taking it and moving forward, even just a little bit!

While my most intense healing journey has been happening over the last 10 years, I have received counselling from my early 20s on. I likely needed it earlier, but I had nobody to insist on or suggest it. In my early experience with therapy, I would often lie to my counsellor. It's easy to do when yo...

Oh my. I saw a friend share this and as a mental health practitioner, and someone who has suffered with anxiety, PTSD and depressive states, I can back this post fully. You also do not have to do it alone.

This needs to be shared, needs to be read, and most importantly heard.

Sertraline- Zoloft
Venlafaxine- Effexor
Citalopram- Celexa
Mirtazapine-Remeron
Fluoxetine- Prozac
Duloxetine- Cymbalta
Seroquel- Quetiapine
Lamictal- Lamotrigine
Lexapro- Escitalopram
Wellbutrin- Bupropion
Lorazepam- Ativan
Klonopin- Clonazepam
Abilify - aripiprazole
Tegrotal - carabamezipine
Buspar - buspirone

You may know what these tablets are or know a loved one who takes them, but in case you don't, I will fill you in. That medication allows people to deal with a normal day to day life. Although most days it leaves them tired, spaced out, emotionless, or even super emotional.

Crazy right? Why would anyone want to feel like that?

Well this is why!!

You see, some people suffer from severe depression and anxiety.
In their brain it doesn't sit right, something seems different. They notice little differences that other people wouldn't. Most days they wake up sick and feel sleepless.

They consistently overthink every situation.
Was a comment about them; was it a joke?
Was that person supposed to laugh?
Or did they mean it?
Are they being nice?
Are they talking about them?
Do they talk about them?
They then think, I bet they don’t like me really.

They say sorry all the time. They feel like they annoy everyone.
And for all those questions they will spend hours trying to answer. Let it all build up in their mind, until it sends them to tears...... it's mental that they see things that way.

It's not only mental changes, but physical changes. They don't eat a lot or they eat way too much. Insomnia, up all night answering questions to situations that don't even exist, or sleep too much and waste half their day still feeling tired.

They still smile and they have every excuse for when you ask why.
But the tablets can help them. Because they know when they start to feel this way or think this way, they need help.

They know that when their behavior starts to change, They need guidance. And they understand that they don't need to be ashamed. They don't need to be understood. They just need to be accepted. Everyone is fighting a battle and sometimes you need to be kinder.

So I may just be another person who's talking about mental health....

Living with this illness is hard, but trying to understand it, is even harder. It’s also 100 times harder if they have another condition on top of this.

Don't suffer in silence.

Mental health is just as important as physical health.

Be part of the healing.💚
Be understanding.💚
Be kind. 💚

Sometimes don’t even try to understand, just simply love that person, support them, and be there when they need you. Some people in my life have truly mastered this, and for you I will forever be grateful!
