If you use your body to do it, whether you choose to call it bodyfeeding, chestfeeding, breastfeeding, or anything else - I celebrate you. I celebrate the difficulty that comes with choosing and practicing how to feed a baby, and the ways in which using your body to feed can be magical and painful.
❤️❤️This week, I see, celebrate, and include...
..those who induce lactation ..those who co-lactate..those who delay, pause, or alter their gender-affirming treatments and procedures in order to bodyfeed..those who bodyfeed through dysphoria..and/or supply-related stressors and discomforts..those who use a Supplementary Nursing System (SNS) to bodyfeed, whether with human milk or formula..those who use donor milk, and those who provide donor milk..those who pump, or exclusively pump..those who tandem feed multiple children..those who long to bodyfeed or lactate..those who wish their feeding journey had/could look different
And more broadly - every and anyone who makes the decision if/when/how to use their body to feed a baby. Bodily autonomy means opting for the feeding choices that are best for you, and/or your baby. Only YOU can decide what that looks like. ❤️❤️
Special shoutout to the lactation and reproductive health professionals who provide people with a wide range of feeding options without projecting hierarchy.
