URGENT REMINDER OF NEW POLICY GOING INTO EFFECT SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2026 This message is from ISC-FNIHB.
Just a reminder of the updated Perimeter Process effective this Sunday - February 1, 2026.
Due to the increasing number of reservations that are no-showed, Perimeter is implementing a $30.00 no-show fee effective February 1. The goal of this is to encourage travellers to cancel their reservations when they are aware they cannot travel, as many flights are currently appearing to be fully booked however are only departing with a fraction of those seats filled. This will help to ensure clients are able to secure seats to their much-needed medical care and prevent any delays.
Perimeter has enacted a 2-hour cancellation window, so as long as a flight is cancelled or rebooked 2 hours prior to the departure time then the client will not be responsible for the no-show fee.
Clients are responsible for the $30.00 no-show fee when rebooking travel for the same day.
The process for NIHB bookings can be found below, and as we fine-tune the process we will provide updates.
SOUTHBOUND TRAVEL:
• Normal nursing station procedures apply.
• If a client no-shows their southbound flight and chooses to travel on a later flight that day, they will be required to pay the $30.00 no-show fee prior to boarding.
• If a client is not travelling the same day and wants to travel the next day, they will be required to go to the nursing station, and the nursing station will be required to rebook the flight with a new locator.
NORTHBOUND TRAVEL:
NIHB PROCESS – Booking northbound travel:
1. **When booking northbound travel with Perimeter, you must advise the client that if they no-show their flight then they are subject to a $30.00 no-show that is at cost to them.**
NIHB PROCESS – Client no-shows and wants to return home same-day (i.e. no-show at 08:00 and wants to travel on 14:30 flight):
1. Advise the client that they will be unable to board the plane without paying the fee ($30.00 per person). If the client is unable to pay then we can rebook them for the next day, but they would be on their own for accommodations and meals (see below).
2. Call Perimeter (must call in – cannot do this online) and rebook with the same locator number. When calling Perimeter, please advise the call agent that the patient will be responsible for paying the $30.00 no show fee. Perimeter is currently working on the functionality to do this online, and we will advise as soon as it is up and running) and rebook the existing locator to a later time that day.
3. Note the file indicating that the client was advised of the no-show fee and the flight has been rebooked from ###x to ###x.
NIHB PROCESS – Client no-shows and wants to travel the next day:
1. The client is advised that they are on their own for accommodations and meals until their flight.
2. A NEW booking must be created through Perimeter Online Booking to issue a NEW locator number. This is required to ensure proper separation for AVU processing and invoicing.
