MASSAGE THERAPY SERVICES WILL NOT BE EFFECTED WITH THE NEW RESTRICTIONS :
COVID-19 Update - April 26, 2021
In this update:
Revised Public Health Orders take effect on Wednesday, April 28th
Reminder to stay diligent in your COVID-19 practice protocols
Dear Members,
Today Premier Pallister and Dr. Roussin announced a tightening of Public Health Orders which will take effect beginning Wednesday, April 28th and will remain in effect until May 26th. The full Public Health Order is available on the Government of Manitoba website.
As RMTs are classified as Health Professionals, you are able to continue to remain open for business with our existing guidelines for PPE, hygiene and sanitization in place.
The new limits on private household visits and indoor and outdoor gatherings do not impact home-based or mobile RMTs' ability to practice. As a Health Professional, RMTs and their clients do not need to be included in either the RMT's or client's household limit.
If you are an MTAM student member in a clinic practicum or a clinic owner with a practicum student:
There are no new restrictions in the Public Health Order that impact the studentβs or clinicβs ability to continue the practicum
Students and clinic owners should consult the student's school for any changes that may have been made to practicum protocols
Clinic owners should advise the practicum student of changes (if any) to your clinic protocols
We are grateful for your diligence in following the Public Health Orders and MTAM guidelines to date. That is what continues to help minimize the risk of transmission in your clinics, helps RMTs keep their clinic doors open and to be able to continue to serve your clients' healthcare needs.
