Your physician can look at your age, medical history, lifestyle, travel plans, and any underlying conditions to recommend vaccines that are actually relevant to you—not just the standard schedule.

They can also explain things like:

*Which vaccines are new or recently updated
*Possible side effects vs. benefits in your specific case
*Timing (some vaccines need boosters or spacing)
*Interactions with medications or conditions

It’s especially useful if you’re unsure about things like flu shots, COVID boosters, travel vaccines, or adult catch-up immunizations.

National Organ and Tissue Awareness Week – April 18 to 24
Did you know:
A single deceased organ donor can save up to eight lives and improve the lives of over 75 more through tissue donation. Organs like hearts, lungs, livers, kidneys, pancreas, and intestines provide life-saving transplants, while tissues such as corneas, skin, bone, and heart valves enhance quality of life.
Key Impacts of Donation:
Organ Donation: Saves up to 8 lives.
Tissue Donation: Improves or restores the lives of up to 75 people.
Heart & Lung: Transplanted to save patients with end-stage failure.
Kidneys & Liver: Can be transplanted to save lives or, in the case of kidneys, remove the need for dialysis.
Corneas: Restore sight to those with corneal blindness.
Skin & Bone: Help burn victims and assist in reconstructive, orthopedic surgeries.
Key Facts:
High Demand: Thousands are on waiting lists for transplants, and many die while waiting.
Age is Not a Barrier: There is no strict age limit; Canada's oldest donor was over 90.
Eligibility: While only 1–2% of deaths allow for organ donation, many more can donate tissue.
Registration: Even if you have signed a donor card, it is crucial to discuss your decision with family.
To make a difference, you can register as an organ donor on your provincial or state registry, such as Blood.ca in Canada

These are a few signs of poor nutrition.

Unintentional Weight Loss: A major indicator, such as losing 5% to 10% of body weight within 3 to 6 months. Clothes, rings, and dentures may feel loose.

Unexplained Fatigue and Weakness: Chronic lack of energy, even after resting, often due to iron, B12, or calorie deficiency.

Hair Loss and Brittle Hair: Thinning, dry, or breaking hair can indicate a lack of protein, biotin, iron, or other essential nutrients.

Slow Wound Healing: Cuts, scratches, or bruises that take a long time to heal may signal insufficient protein or vitamin C intake.

Brittle, Ridged, or Spoon-Shaped Nails: Nails that split easily or develop ridges may indicate deficiencies, particularly in iron or biotin.

Skin Issues: Dry, thin, pale, or peeling skin, as well as easy bruising, can indicate deficiencies in vitamins or essential fatty acids.

Frequent Illness and Infection: A weakened immune system due to lack of nutrients (like zinc, vitamins A/C) causes more frequent illnesses and longer recovery times.

Constant Feeling of Being Cold: An inability to maintain body temperature can be caused by low calorie intake or iron deficiency (anemia).

Mood Changes and Irritability: Poor nutrition can lead to apathy, depression, anxiety, and increased irritability.

Digestive Issues: Chronic constipation or diarrhea can be related to a lack of fiber, water, or nutrients.

If you are experiencing these symptoms, you may need to discuss better eating habits with a doctor. Call us today for an appointment.
