Family Dynamics

Family Dynamics Strengthening Relationships and Communities since 1936. Throughout the years we have evolved and adapted in response to emerging issues impacting family health.

Family Dynamics was originally conceived in 1936 to meet the needs of Winnipeggers where gaps existed in the social safety net. Our broad range of strengths-based programs and services are linked together with “family” at the core. We are committed to building family and community capacity

Our services are available to all Winnipeggers regardless of social or economic circumstances. Most services are delivered in the community in client homes, schools, child care centres and subsidized housing communities. While our counselling and EAP services along with facilitator training and workshops take place at our agency in the heart of Winnipeg.

All Family Dynamics locations will be closed Friday April 3rd and Monday April 6th. Have a lovely weekend.

“The focus has been on comprehension, not compassion, so people will say, ‘Why do you have to understand me in order to say I shouldn’t be experiencing violence?’”

– Alok Vaid-Menon

On Trans Day of Visibility, we celebrate trans and gender-diverse lives and reaffirm our commitment to care, respect, and inclusion in our spaces. We recognize that this is a journey, and we continue learning how to make Family Dynamics a safer, more welcoming place for everyone.

We are very pleased to welcome Robbyn Rempel as the new Executive Director of Family Dynamics, effective April 13, 2026. Robbyn brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in Manitoba’s social services sector, along with a deep understanding of Family Dynamics from her previous senior leadership role within the organization.

Throughout her career, she has held key roles including Chief Administration Officer with the Métis Child and Family Services Authority, Director of Human Resources at The Link: Youth and Family Supports, and most recently, she worked with the Manitoba Government and General Employees’ Union.

She is widely recognized for her collaborative leadership style, strong labour relations expertise, and ability to build trusted relationships across teams and partners. Robbyn’s passion for community, combined with her commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive leadership, positions her well to lead Family Dynamics into its next chapter. We are excited to welcome her back and look forward to the leadership and care she will bring to the organization.

Neurodiversity Celebration Week is a worldwide initiative that challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences. Depending on how our brains are wired we think, move, process information and communicate in different ways. Neurodiversity is about recognizing those who think differently.

When we give, we gain.

The IWD 2026 Give To Gain Campaign encourages a mindset of generosity and collaboration.

Give To Gain emphasizes the power of reciprocity and support. When people, organizations, and communities give generously, opportunities and support for women increase. Giving is not a subtraction, it's intentional multiplication. When women thrive, we all rise.
