On this day, communities across Canada and around the world gather to show support, remember those lost to su***de, comfort those who grieve, and strengthen our connections.

This year, the Canadian Association for Su***de Prevention is hosting a free virtual event:

✨ Indigenous Knowledge and Life Promotion: Changing Narratives on Su***de
🗓️ Wednesday, September 10
⏰ 12:00–1:30 PM ET
📍 Online (registration required)

Featuring:
🔹 Elder John Rice, Elder/Knowledge Holder, Dnaagdawenmag Binnoojiiyag Child & Family Services
🔹 Lindsay DuPré, Métis scholar, mom and auntie

Together, they’ll share how Indigenous Knowledge shifts perspectives from prevention to Life Promotion—a strengths-based approach rooted in culture, belonging, meaning and hope.

Following the session, join the Global Candle Vigil at 8:00 PM in your time zone by placing a candle in your window to “Light a Flame of Hope.” 🕯️

🏠 Prairie Tides Live-in Healing Home – Construction Update 🛠️
Week of August 25–29

Our new home is really taking shape! Last week:

Round room brick veneer finished & stone pillar repaired

Siding, soffits & fascia mostly done

Drywall installed and first coats of mud applied

HVAC, lighting, and crawl space rough-ins progressing

Flat roof and parking lot improvements completed

✨ Next Week (Sept 2–5):

Roof relocation with crane

Main floor lighting installation

Interior and exterior doors being installed

Landscaping prep & parking lot line painting

Drywall finishing and exterior caulking

Progress continues every week — our home for healing is getting closer! 💛

Join us from 5:30–7:30 PM around the fire at the Cultural House (white house), 442 Scotia Street.

We’ll gather in circle to honour our beautiful grandmother moon — a space for women, girls, and 2-Spirit individuals to release anything weighing on their spirit, seek guidance, and connect with one another. ✨

Please bring a dish to share for our potluck feast afterward — and if you can’t, that’s okay too, we’d still love to have you.

If you have a ribbon skirt, please wear it; if not, we have some you can borrow.
