You asked and we listened!

Due to interest in our summer training, we have officially added FALL dates for the Fundamentals of CCAAT course at Lil’ Steps Wellness farm on September 12 & 13, 2026.

This hands-on training is the first step toward certification through the Child-Centered Animal-Assisted Therapy Association and is designed for professionals looking to integrate animals into their work with children and youth in a structured, ethical, and evidence-based way.

If you’ve been thinking about incorporating Animal-Assisted Therapy into your practice, this is your opportunity to learn in an immersive farm setting alongside experienced facilitators and therapy animals.

Spots are limited and tend to fill quickly.

After a lifetime of giving rides, Ringo now lives with a fractured coffin bone and arthritis, requiring ongoing medical support, pain management, and specialized therapeutic boots to keep him comfortable.

Now retired from giving rides, he continues to make an incredible impact at Lil’ Steps Wellness Farm as one of our most loved animal co workers. Known for his calm presence and deeply moving sessions with clients, Ringo still helps children, youth, and adults feel safe, connected, and supported every day.

Now, it’s our turn to care for him.

We are incredibly grateful to The Swallows Nest and Shea Tree Wellness for generously hosting Me Time: A Day of Silence on Sunday, May 31 in support of the Lil’ Steps Wellness Foundation and Ringo’s care.

Every dollar raised will directly support Ringo’s medical needs and help ensure he continues to enjoy the peaceful retirement he deserves. 🐴

📍 Sunday, May 31
🕙 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
📍 The Swallows Nest | Elie, Manitoba

Register here: https://mind-over-matter-academy.newzenler.com/courses/me-time-a-day-of-silence

If you’re unable to attend the event but would still like to support Ringo’s ongoing care, you can make a donation through the dedicated Ringo section on our website’s Donations page. ❤️🙏

There is something powerful about learning in a space where connection, compassion, and hands-on experience come together.

Alexa shares how her experience in the Fundamentals of CCAAT course helped expand the way she approaches therapy sessions, including confidently incorporating rats into her work with clients. From learning directly at the farm to gaining a deeper understanding of attachment, regulation, and child-centered practice, her story is a beautiful reminder of how impactful Animal-Assisted Therapy can be.

We are incredibly grateful to every professional who has trusted us to be part of their learning journey at Lil’ Steps Wellness Farm.

Ready to begin your own journey into Child-Centered Animal-Assisted Therapy? Our next Fundamentals of CCAAT training is now open for registration.
