INTRODUCING OUR NEW COACH JULIE!

Julie says:

"If you’re a woman in your late 30s to 50s and your body suddenly isn’t responding the way it used to, you’re not imagining it—and you’re not the problem. Midlife brings real physiological changes, especially through perimenopause and menopause, that affect metabolism, sleep, stress, muscle, and fat loss.

This is the phase I specialize in coaching women through, both professionally and personally. As a mother of two teenage boys and someone who has always been deeply involved in health and fitness, I’ve also experienced years of weight fluctuations and a challenging relationship with body image. My own journey—and my experience as both a coach and a client within GFIT—transformed how I think about food, training, and what true health really looks like.

With a background in physiotherapy and over 20 years in the fitness industry, I use evidence-based strategies to help women rebuild strength, support metabolic health, and create sustainable nutrition and training habits that work with their bodies, not against them. I'm also a pilates instructor, and love blending it with strength training.

My goal is simple: to help women feel strong, confident, and comfortable in their own skin while building a healthy, sustainable path forward—without extremes or all-or-nothing thinking."

Introducing our new coach Ali!

Ali says:

“I’m Ali, a coach who specializes in helping women navigate perimenopause, rebuild strength, and feel hotter and more confident in their bodies again during midlife.

Perimenopause can feel like your body suddenly changed the rules overnight. The night sweats that leave you drenched. The brain fog that makes you forget words mid-sentence. The stubborn weight gain. The loss of lean muscle. The fatigue that no amount of coffee seems to fix.

I know these challenges personally because I’m living through them too. Instead of fighting my body, I learned how to work with it by adjusting my training, nutrition, and recovery in a way that supports hormonal changes. The result? I’m stronger, healthier, and more fit now than I’ve ever been in my life.

My coaching focuses on helping women do the same: rebuild strength, improve body composition, increase energy, and create habits that support long-term health at this stage of life.

One thing I’ve learned that makes a huge difference is having a partner who supports your goals.

Matt and I live an active lifestyle together. We train together, ride motorcycles together, and show up for each other through every season. Because of that, we also enjoy helping couples pursue their health and fitness goals together.

Involving your partner can significantly improve your chances of long-term success, but both people still need individualized support. Matt and I can work with you individually to help you reach your goals while creating cohesive plans that work for you as a couple or family.

I’m also a mother of two young adults who prioritize their health because I lead by example. As a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, the athlete mindset runs deep in my life. Outside the gym, I’m an avid motorcycle and dirt bike rider and the founder of MotoQueens Canada, a community connecting women riders worldwide.

MEET OUR NEW COACH CHRISTINE!

Christine says...

“In my early years, I turned to substances to manage the weight of personal struggles and emotional pain. I am now over 12 years sober, and that journey taught me something foundational: when you remove one coping mechanism without building new ones, the pain doesn’t disappear, it simply looks for somewhere else to go.

For me, that place became food.

After losing my mother, I found myself using food as comfort. Emotional eating slowly took over, and I gained over 55 pounds.

Working with a coach I didn’t just lose the weight - I learned why I was eating the way I was. I learned that change isn’t about willpower or perfection, but about building coping skills. As someone who lives with anxiety and depression, I’ve experienced firsthand how whole, nourishing foods and consistent movement can dramatically improve your mood, energy, and overall quality of life.

My passion lies in helping people who feel stuck in cycles of emotional eating, inconsistency, and guilt. People who “know what to do,” but struggle to do it consistently. People who are tired of extremes and want a supportive, realistic approach that respects their mental health as much as their goals. What excites me most about this work is hearing people’s stories and walking alongside them as they rebuild trust with food, their bodies, and themselves.

I don’t believe in quick fixes or shame-based motivation. I believe in education, compassion, structure, and sustainability.
